Good place in the heart of the city, close to the river and many restaurants

Comfortable and peaceful hotel in a fascinating location
Pros:

This is a beautiful hotel right on the riverfront and next to a bustling market. It’s tucked away down a narrow street off the main road, and it’s so interesting just strolling around the local neighbour and seeing traditional low-rise houses - this isn’t central Bangkok with its glitzy skyscrapers; you get to experience a slower side of life. For some visitors it might be too far from the bustle, but it’s ideal if you want somewhere peaceful and more local. You can take a ferry across the river (2 minute journey) for 4.5 THB and from there walk easily to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and further afield.

Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We didn’t have a view but there was still a lot of natural light. Really loved having a separate walk-in storage area where we could put our suitcases out the way. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well.

We didn’t spend much time at the hotel itself but the decorative touches - old costumes and masks from various theatre productions - were fascinating. The main reception area is architecturally beautiful, too!

Cons:

As a vegan/vegetarian travelling duo, unfortunately the breakfast was very limited. This was a shame, as it’s so easy to get great plant-based food in Thailand. Some more vegetable dishes would have been appreciated as all the hot options were meat/fish.

We used the smart tv in the room after getting back one evening but it took a long time to sort out - the hotel had to send someone to connect it to the internet and add an attachment so we could access Netflix. After a long day exploring we just wanted to relax and this was a bit of a faff. The WiFi in the room was also quite patchy and didn’t always work.

Séjour agréable dans un hôtel agréable et parfaitement situé pour visiter Bangkok et les alentours
Pros:

Hôtel très bien situé au bord du fleuve et à proximité de nombreux sites (temples, marchés)
Chambres spacieuses, literie très confortable.
La piscine est appéciable après une journée de ballade dans Bangkok.

Cons:

Accès pas toujours facile pour les taxis (quartier souvent saturé et rues étroites)
Le service de blachisserie est cher en comparaison des prix pratiqués sur Bangkok pour le même service.

Central, cozy and practical
Pros:

This is a no-frills place that is practical and convenient. The hotel is tucked away from the main road yet is close to two water taxi stations - 5 min walk either way. Breakfast was good - the omelet station was much appreciated while the variety of other breakfast food could be larger. The verandah of the restaurant has some outdoor seating to enjoy the view of the river and sunrise. Once a water monitor (a giant lizard) walked along the wall of the verandah :) We were given very good ideas for excursions by the tour desk at the reception.

Cons:

The windows of our room were facing a school which was just 6-10 meters away, so it was impossible to sleep after 7am during weekdays because the kids were extremely noisy.

Pros:

Excellent location. New to Bangkok so had no idea of where to stay. We got lucky. Great location. Easy access to everywhere. Market next door and and next to ferry to cross the river. Only 4.5 baht. Great restaurant on the river. I would highly recommend this place to any first time travellers who don't know where to start looking.

Cons:

I loved everything.
