Perfect stay in stylish hotel in Gion’s heart
Pros:

Wonderful hotel with great style and Japanese flair! Amazing location in the heart of Gion’s charming streets - but a good distance away from the really busy parts near the temple. Walking distance to nice restaurants and bars, as well across the river to the Poncho area.

The onsen is a great addition too. Good to have a walk-in shower (as our other hotels on the trip didn’t have this). Plenty of nice amenities and options for breakfast too. Lovely, helpful staff as well.

We got a lovely welcome decoration as it was our honeymoon and a free drink at the bar too - Arigatō!

It was a pleasant stay centrally located to acces the sights. It was quiet at night and the super king was comfortable

It was clean and well placed to access the local highlights. The super king bed was comfortable.

Cons:

The replacement of towels and rubbish was up to us which was ok but didn’t know what to do with all the rubbish and excess towels

Pros:

This hotel was the best in our trip. Totally unexpected. Super spacious and great room, a lot of free amenities offered downstairs, big and spacious bathroom, plus a big window to lookout from. Plus TV had Netflix so it was perfect to end the night. The cleaning ladies were the nicest, always leaving clean towels for us. The location is perfect, just close enough to Gion and all the movement but also a walk from the otherside and more central/shopping streets of Kyoto, all while tucked away in a little street which gives a sense of comfort.
Would definitely recommend for a stay in Kyoto.

Cons:

Twin beds, couldn't change to one only. Apart from that, nothing else to point!

Location was good for first time Kyoto visitors
Pros:

Highlight of this hotel is the staff! They’re very friendly and will try to make your stay comfortable. If you need to stay in “Gion” the location of the hotel is good as it’s close to train stations you can walk to, however these mainly connect you to Uji and Nara. For all other destinations it will be either bus or changing lines.

Cons:

The rooms are SUPER SMALL! I didn’t think it could get smaller than Tokyo rooms but it sure can! If you have large luggages, there’s barely room to move one you put them somewhere!
I’m not sure which rooms are in the basement but we were super lucky to NOT get a basement room! Firstly they won’t have windows (and windows help so much when room is small), the laundromat and onsen are also on that floor! The whole floor has a smell that is not nice!
The breakfast is ok. We ended up going out despite having breakfast on our reservation twice as the options especially for Western breakfast are limited.
Lastly the rooms need a renovation! The bed frames are worn out and there’s barely any charging space that is useable!

Breakfast was wonderful, environment, decor, spa/bath facility excellent, very friendly helpful staff, location excellent

Cons:

no room to put things in the rooms! Please consider adding hooks on the walls so that travelers can at least hang extra bags and clothes as there is nowhere to put anything, barely any space for suitcases for two people! Hooks in many places would be very helpful!!!!!!
