Always know good stay at Grand Palace, Butuan
Pros:

The property is just better than any in city. I try a few and regret. Now only plan Grand Palace. Rooms are fuller, more comfortable, and people support is excellent and always a call away.

Cons:

The kitchen is great, but I noticed, no more corned beef. Sad. Now always chicken many types… some pork links. Ok… miss corned beef

If you don’t expect a hot shower then you’ll love it
Pros:

Location is within walking distance (or a cheap grab ride) of anything you want.

Cons:

Don’t count on hot water. This was a shock as it’s one of the most expensive hotels in the city but we were here over a week and only one day did the hot water work well enough for a full shower.

A Decent Budget Priced Hotel with Pleasant Staff
Pros:

This is a budget friendly hotel. In my opinion it offers good value for money. People making less positive remarks should remember that. This isn't a Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton or other 5 star chain hotel so don't expect it to be. You get what you pay for. Breakfast was simple food but adequate with enough choice.

Cons:

No room safe but there are free security boxes for valuables on the hotel reception as an alternative. A little way from the city centre area but there is a good shopping mall which is a walkable distance away. I found it hard to pre-book an airport taxi in advance of my arrival. However, a security guard assisted me with this at the airport and I got safely to the hotel. I was grateful for that because it was raining heavily on arrival.

Pros:

I liked the Butuan Palace Hotel. It is close to the commercial center, and the facilities are well-maintained. The front desk staff are kind and accommodating, as well as the kitchen staff and cleaners. The breakfast served every morning is delicious and offered in a buffet style.

Cons:

1. What I didn’t like was the room they assigned to me on the ground floor. Every night, especially in the early morning, there were rats running around in the ceiling. On my first night, I could hardly sleep, so I reported it to the front desk, but no action was taken.

2. The guards at the front door—some of them—were not good at recognizing their guests. Even though I stayed for four days, every time I came in from outside, they would always ask me to remove my cap. I might have understood it on the first day during check-in, but even after two or three days had passed, they still kept asking me to take off my cap.
They were strict, but it felt inappropriate and showed poor recognition of their guests.
