Minor works to complete the Exeter flood defense scheme will continue outside the property during the autumn/winter of 2019 and 2020 which can involve contractors working in close proximity to the garden/river elevation of the building. The property anticipate there only being a minor impact on the view from the room. Works usually only take place Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 and 18:00.
Please note that Headweir Mill House does not have air conditioning as it is a listed building in a conservation area.
A deposit may be required at the property.

Beautiful location, friendly staff.
Toilet wouldn’t flush properly and food was quite tasteless. Would have expected better for the price.
Excellent location, accommodation and breakfast.
We both had a Sunday roast for evening dinner and the meat was dry and the Yorkshire pudding very dry. That was the only downside to our stay.⁹

Lovely location right on the river, with lovely terrace to enjoy food and drinks. Great shower and comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely with friendly staff.

The staff were welcoming from the beginning. It was good to have a parking space close to the entrance to the hotel accommodation. The housekeeping staff were very helpful, particularly as the weather was very hot. The breakfast was good. It was a fairly short walk to the city centre.

Beautiful pub right by the river and handy location near the city centre.
While our room itself was nice the position was very unfortunate, right by the car park and the guest door so I knew immediately as we checked in that we would be disturbed by slamming doors. Privacy was also an issue so we spent the whole trip with the curtains closed. We requested to move and were told this was not possible. I booked months in advance so was disappointed that this was the room we were allocated and that there was no attempt to find a solution as we were indeed repeatedly disturbed.
The staff at Mill on the Exe were so friendly and cheerful despite our stay being in their busiest week of the year. The cleaners were very friendly too. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, parking was easy and you can walk to the centre of Exeter in 10 mins. Sitting on their terrace by the river is a mini holiday in itself. This is one of our favourite places to stay in the whole of the UK
