Location. Staff was very attentive and polite.
Rooms were very small. Faucet didn’t work very well.
Super convenient to the metro station (the hotel is pretty much built on top of it), and everything that Asakusa has to offer is just a short 5-10 min walk. The hotel onsen was an added bonus. The included breakfast in the adjacent coffee shop was a little limited in choice but was good enough.
The rooms were small but the standard size for all APA hotels in Tokyo.
Mattress was too soft it gave me a backache
After six years, we are finally back—and this is already our fourth time staying at this hotel. The service has always been excellent, and the housekeeping staff are very thoughtful and kind, making us feel truly welcomed. We really love this place, and the location is also very convenient. We will definitely come back again!
Fijne locatie, gratis onsen.
We really liked the value you get for the room and amenities. What keeps it from a higher score is the size of the room for two people, but it works and is typical for these types of hotels in the Tokyo area. If you're a solo travel you should be pretty comfortable. Also, in the end, you're not paying for comfort. You're paying for value and that is not to say we did not enjoy it. We enjoyed the daily towel and yukata changes. We also enjoyed the public bath on the 14th floor that was open even late into the night until 1:00AM. The bed and pillow was comfy, we used the kettle everyday, and check in and check out was also very easy. If you cannot speak Japanese, the staff will also help you. As for location, Tawaramachi Station is just two stops away from Ueno station so you're not far from central Tokyo and it is just one stop away from Asakusa, making it easy to take trains wherever you need to go. Not only that, the hotel is really close to the Tawaramachi Station so it's only a short walk away, making travel that much more convenient.
As we said before, the room size was on the smaller size for two people, but totally expected. One thing that the hotel makes clear is that there is no centralized air conditioning. You cannot control the temperature of your room. I personally did not mind, but my wife felt chilly sometimes in the room.
