Comfort & location
Nothing
It’s a beautiful location. The hotel was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff was incredible - I would like to give a special shout out to Noelle - she certainly went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and ensure we had everything we needed.
CLEAN, GOOD SERVICE
PLUGS IN ROOM SHUT OFF AND ON ALL NIGHT SO CPAP KEPT SHUTTING OFF AND ON DIDN'T SLEEP VERY GOOD
This hotel is the most incredible place to stay. The staff is so kind and hard working. All the amenities were so relaxing and welcoming. Always will come back!
The only complaint is the chairs on the private balconies from both of our stays were covered in bird droppings and the table seemed too small for a breakfast or meal. The reading light with our previous stay was broken and didn’t want to turn off so had to tape it with a bandage through the evening so we could sleep.
This is a nice, clean, modern hotel. We had a great room at the end of the hall with a big balcony. The room was spacious and comfortable, with good closet and drawer space, functional bedside tables and electrical outlets. The shower was kind of weak, but the bathroom had adequate counter space and there was a list of amenities they can provide if you’ve forgotten anything, very thoughtful (see photo). They welcomed us with a plate of sweets. When we had an issue with the TV they sent Maintenance promptly to fix it.
There is no restaurant, just a bar with a light menu. They do offer room service breakfast, and there is an Echo & Rig restaurant just off the lobby which also serves breakfast til 10am. There are several other restaurants within a couple blocks, including the Hyatt Centric which had a very good breakfast available til 2pm daily.
The location is great for attending an event at Golden 1 Center, just a few steps across the plaza.
Great stay when visiting Sacramento for work. This hotel is in a prime location, right next to Golden One Center. The rooms are spacious and modern. There is a restaurant on site, 24/7 room service, and a well-stocked mini bar. Enjoy complimentary evening refreshments and coffee in the morning.
I had the worse experience at the hotel. I’ve been a guest at the hotel in the pass, major issue, room not being ready by 5? When you plan on attend game and need to freshen up.
In November 2026, close to Thanksgiving holidays, I had a friend visiting. I was profiled as a black woman by security sitting in the lobby drinking coffee, the security guard only approached me. Not any of the white guests. I shared a room with my friend. She left before me. I had my room key as the asked for it, I guess my word wasn’t enough. They told me to leave or they would call the police and told me to go to my room immediately and leave the facility, even though I had been a guest for to days and also a member of IGH . The general manager handle the issue horribly, she lied about what happened and why. She allowed me to think I was profiled for my race. She tried to back pedal and apologize. Her staff was unprofessional. It’s embarrassing. She could not handle the operations of her hotel and allowed third parties to dictate her behavior and job title. A General Manager she be accountable for her guest, not someone tells her staff how to her job. Emily Nichols needs to train her team to the highest standards and treat every guest based on these actions in the moment.
Considering the Kimpton Sawyer Sacramento larges revenues comes from NBA player staying at the hotel, who are predominantly black and aggressive attacking a guest with threats is unacceptable. Her Guest Manager was also, extremely unprofessional. She also wouldn’t give me the name of the person above her as I felt the situation had not been resolved. If you’re a person of color be prepared.
It ruined our stay and holiday. She became arrogant and threatening when I wouldn’t accept her apology and free tickets to a game. She didn’t understand the point of being blacked and threatened by staff.
Everything
Overall an underwhelming experience that caters more to a conference crowd. Do not expect any luxury, and not on par with other IHG/Kimpton hotel experiences. Then again, this might be to “best” Sacramento has to offer… I will try the Hyatt next time I ever need to come back to the area.
DO NOT book through Chase Travel. Frankly, I do not understand why this hotel is on Chase Travel The Edit. Hotel dining credit is only applied to room service, which is limited menu and lacking in service. Hotel restaurant is apparently separately run so you cant do room charges there. Chance of upgrade is small on weekends if there are Kings games or conferences.
Room service: Poor experience overall. One night we ordered in advance for scheduled delivery and they arrived 1 hour late. Second time they arrived 30min late. Forgot the potatoes saying their fryer was broken but then delivered us potatoes about 20min later after our food arrived. Both times saying the hotel was fully booked and they were understaffed.
Rooms: We stayed in corner king. Not worth the extra prices we paid. Very basic with cheap furniture. Dusty corners and scratches on the desk. Not well maintained.
Housekeeping: room was empty from 7am to 3pm and housecleaning never came. I had to call to request cleaning. Cleaning was basic, with our used tea cups left as is.
Poor communication at checkout: Finally, at checkout, front desk manager asked about the stay and seemed apologetic after I explained the above. Our Chase travel credits evened out the bill so she said she would deposit some IHG points. Printed a final bill of zero balance owed. However, a few days later I see a charge on credit card. Had to call to find out it was for the amenity fee.
Amenity charge: as mentioned, they will charge a nightly amenity fee but did not disclose on the final checkout bill. I had to contact them after seeing credit card charges. Amenity fee apparently goes towards the coffee and happy hours, which we did not attend a single one.
Overpriced. There is no breakfast on site other than room service (which is extremely expensive) and the rooms don't have tables or chairs to eat
Lack of breakfast. Extremely expensive. The HVAC in our room did not work.
