AyKun Hotel

Arrived late to the b- team receptionist who wasn’t interested and treated me as an inconvenience. Checked-in, tried to overcharge (‘by accident’ apparently) and when this was sorted I got to a room which wasn’t the type I booked so went down to reception to ask for this to be rectified. New key issued, got to room and key didn’t work. Went back down again (at no stage was an apology offered) and the receptionist came back with me, gave me a new key and the original (neither labelled) but that was an issue for the morning. Breakfast was fine but the tiny conference room with 8 tables that hosted it wasn’t ideal. Location was OK, I was there to sightsee and watch tennis but what really lets this place down is its reception staff who don’t seem to care! Upon checkout I’d pre- ordered a transfer to the airport. At 30 minutes after the arranged collection- with several polite request for the very quiet reception to chase- I eventually arranged a Yandex and got to the airport myself. Upon leaving the receptionist and his colleague laughed at me for sorting my own transport but I didn’t want to miss my flight! I did report this and nobody ever got in touch. Very poor customer service and wouldn’t stay again.

It doesn't really feel like 4 star hotel, had issues with the internet, they block it if you have a VPN installed on your computer. The rooms are ok but mkji bar was empty and bed was not very comfortable. The breakfast ok but not like in other 4 star hotels.

Small hotel in the business part of the capital. Several restaurants as well as grocery stores are nearby. The hotel is small, stayed here twice during the week, so was in two different rooms. The first issue was more expensive and larger. The second one took for one night, the most modest, but he turned out to be not bad either. Comfortable bed, bathroom with all toiletries. On the ground floor there is a bathhouse, which includes a sauna and a hammam. Breakfast ample. Sandwiches, vegetable and sausage cuts, sweets. Overall, I liked it.

The hotel and room were clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay (not great, but not bad either). We were quite happy with the location: we could walk to a lot of the main sights in Astana.

It gives more then any other 3 star hotels provides.Rooms are extremely clean,staff helpful and the restaurant is beyond my expectations.
Hotel is close to everywhere considering the size of the city.I will definitely stay there for the next time.

They have a free sauna! The staff was friendly, clean and comfortable rooms, and everything worked. They packed me a no-go bag for my breakfast because I had an early morning flight. I will stay here again.

Very clean, nice beds, linens, brand new. Nice staff.

I booked this through booking.com and the reviews were pretty ok. Besides the location of it that is good- in terms of being in town and close to a lot of sightseeing- the rest was terrible. Check-in took half an hour and except for 1 person no one else spoke English. They don't accept usd AND don't exchange!
They asked me my flight time and I thought it was for arranging a ride to the airport but instead they figured out on their own that I want late check out and charged me for it !!! And few other things:
Elevator was out of order
There was no fridge, no water, no tissue, ..
Even though I had a "do not disturb" sign, someone walked into my room
Restaurant isn't working and arranging for my breakfast took 40 mins
....
Anyhow, the hotel is technically under construction but they arranged for parts of it to be working to open. Thus, the staff, setup, ... isn't there yet!
