3 nights in the Clifton Hotel.
Pros:

The staff were fantastic, the balcony views were excellent and location was great.
The food was very good with good quality produce and plenty of it.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Help with our case was greatly appreciated given the steep first floor stairs from the ground level.
Disabled parking was excellent. Only the one space but it was reserved for me for the whole of our stay.
If you can look past the tired room and the cost you are guaranteed a calm and relaxing stay at the Clifton. That is what we needed and exactly what we got, so pleased we booked.
Given the struggle the hospitality trade is going through and the undoubtedly high running costs incurred in running a hotel a lot of what we didn't like is understandable.
Would we stay again, yes. Would we pay the same, yes.

Cons:

The room whilst spacial was tired. The carpets were coming away from door strips. The room had a musty smell to it. The room needs a refresh. The hairdryer was sticky. No toilet brush in the bathroom.
Stepped accessibility to the show was a bit nerve racking, but the shower had good flow and was nice and roomy.
It had no lift, so accessibility to the rooms for disabled persons is not the best. But saying that I managed the stairs ok whilst using a walking stick.
The closing of reception and bar at 5pm
with all the staff leaving was unusual.

Most overpriced bed and breakfast ever.
Pros:

The view

Cons:

Extraordinary poor value for money.
No restaurant.
Locked out at 5pm.
Appalling so called 'bistro' catering at lunchtime .
Most expensive room I've ever booked, and I travel extensively.
I can't believe I was stupid enough to make the reservation.

A great relaxing experience
Pros:

Excellent accommodation with a very fine breakfast. Lots of areas downstairs where you could sit and great veranda and gardens. Very restful experience. Great sea view from front bedrooms

Cons:

Air conditioning in the room would have been good especially as temperature hit 36°C. The hotel wasn’t manned after 5pm so couldn’t make use of the bar in the evening

Pros:

Fantastic location overlooking the beach. Within easy reach of the Chine and village. Hotel was clean and during the day has a bar, coffee shop and quiet garden with tables in which to relax.

Cons:

Something to be aware of, hotel reception, bar and cafe is not serviced after 5pm. Not a big problem, but summer evening drinks outside in the garden would have been a pleasant option.

Best hotel for Relaxation with Sea view
Pros:

Hotel The Clifton is located in best location. Must visit property. Run by polite, hospitable people. Awesome sea view from room & balcony, well maintained garden with variety of flowers, different designs & patterns of tapestry items, home made cakes & marmalades can also be purchased...… sea beach & Chine 5 minutes by walk. Old village & town centre 10-15 minutes by walk. We had very enjoyable & peaceful stay.
