Location
We enjoyed our stay at Mackays Hotel in Wick. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is well situated for exploring the area.
However, there are a couple of aspects that could be improved. The mattresses in our room were old and worn, which affected the quality of our sleep. In addition, the curtains were not very practical and did not block out the early morning light effectively, which can be challenging during the Scottish summer when daylight starts very early.
With some attention to these issues, the overall guest experience would be significantly improved.
The one bed apartment was next to the hotel. Very clean including towels and bed linen and comfy bed. The property was adequately furnished and equipped (enough for our 2 night stay). The staff were lovely. We ate in the hotel both nights and food excellent. Breakfast also extremely good and freshly cooked. Very dog friendly. Free parking on the road outside the hotel. Would recommend
