Check in was really messy. We arrived a bit early, but they used around 15min just to find our bookings, then they used another 10min to find out if some rooms where ready, in the end we just left to go for lunch another place to give them time to sort out some rooms. When we came back 1h45min later they had still not found us some rooms. Took another 20mins for them to check us in! By which time we had just 10mins for the 3 of us to get a shower and go to the airport to do the helicopter trip we had booked. Otherwise hotel was good, just that it was really noisy when people talked outside rooms.
Staff not trained for their jobs. Very disappointed in this Hotel. Will never go their again.
Other guests behaviour not managed by staff, noise in the corridor, staff not efficient in arranging transport, shower with no pressure, etc.
We were given key of room already occupied... then no towel and no hot water in the shower of the 2nd room.
It was just ok! The price for it doesn’t match for the property
Early afternoon I contacted Expeidia to change reservation to next day due to car problems. I was told hotel was not answering its phone but that Expedia would continue to try to reach them and email me. By next day, still nothing. Hotel needs to answer its phone and respond to enquiries and Expedia should have sent me an update,
for a new hotel they sure messed up - goofy design with the glass shower right next to the bed. Water goes everywhere. Noisy rooms. no mosquito nets and no screens on the windows. Noisy rooms. Average food.
Secluded and quiet
Some renovations needed
Friendly staff, airport transfers.
On our second trip the reception and checking in was very disappointing I was made to wait for a long time. I requested a room down stairs was given upstairs making extremely difficult for my wife to walk. After a long time two staff members assisted
Cresta Maun is a great choice in Maun which surprisingly lacks decent accommodation. We came here from a horrible experience at another hotel. Staff was nice. We didnt try the breakfast. Transportation to and from the airport was easy and included with the stay.
A few items to consider" There is another Cresta in Maun and we were really confused because google had 3 Cresta Maun's when searching. So best to use the shuttle provided by the hotel.
The shower is in the room with no door. This maybe off putting for some but wasn't an issue for us at all.
The air conditioner was weak (not too bad though).
Service excellent, people friendly overall pleasant experience!
The hotel and amenities were all very nice. The staff could of been a little more helpful, some were very friendly while others made it feel as if it were an inconvenience to them to help us.
was advertised as 3 star and it is. There was a 2 hr delay at check in and was not told why, but they were accommodative at check out. The rooms were clean and modern, the staff courteous and helpful; but then most of Botswana is like that. The water is salty and we were provided with bottled water. The food is below average and slightly expensive. No water in river when we were there and so no wild animals. overall a happy experience
Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and neat. Always a pleasant stay.
Cresta Maun is a business hotel on the edge of the Okavango...an interesting combination. The setting is fabulous on the banks of the Thamalakane River and it's a great location for tourists wanting a stop-over en route to safari. Given the relative remoteness of Maun the management do a great job of creating a quality experience for guests. As a regular business visitor to the town, Cresta Maun is a no-brainer: friendly staff, good wifi, surprisingly good food, decent bar experience, efficient front desk and a secure, well maintained property. Being a little way out of town, a car is essential if you need to get around easily.
Nice new hotel in Main. Staff and service good. We had a good meal in the restaurant and the room was comfortable. Down side - the pool was a bit 'murky' and very cold for swimming. There was also a bad smell near our room. We asked to be moved and reception arranged this. We subsequently heard that they water the gardens with treated sewage!! Hence the smell. Bizarre given the proximity to the river.
It was a one night stay en Route to my final destination
staff were very good but my regonal accent communication was some times slow but enjoyable
