Hotel Mozart Rorschach

In Rorschach ist die Welt in den 1970er Jahren stehengeblieben. Die Häuser haben schmutzige Fassaden. Viele Geschäfte haben aufgegeben. Alte Limousinen vergilbter Premiumhersteller schleichen durch den dort. Hier passt genau dieses Hotel. Das Bad ist eine Nasszelle aus 1972 - aus verblasstem ehemals gelbgrünlichem Kunststoff in der Farbe verblichenem Kamillentees, aus der Generation „Plaste und Elaste“. Der Mini Duschkopf war verkalkt und die wenigen Wasserstrahlen stechen durch die Kalkkruste wie Nadeln. Der Ablauf des Waschbeckens funktionierte nicht und war verstopft. Der Einstieg in die Badewanne - wer um alles in der Welt badet hier? War gefühlt meterhoch. Der Preis in Euro ist enorm und wäre in Deutschland keines Falls mehr durchsetzbar. No way! Am anderen Ende vom Bodensee gibt es dafür ein 4 oder 5 Sterne Haus. Bei uns zuhause hätte ich ca. 80% weniger bezahlt dafür. Das Haus steht genau am Bahngleis - Fenster unbedingt geschlossen halten. Lang lebe die Schweiz und ihr Binnenmarkt und die stoische Abgewandtheit der Schweizer vom Rest der Welt. In Rohrschach spürt man deutlich: den Schweizern ist der Rest der Welt relativ Wurscht solange der wahnsinnig überteuerte Binnenmarkt immer weiter und weiter und weiter funktioniert, lässt sich ein solch veraltetes Hotel noch prächtig zu Geld machen. Wir kommen nicht wieder!

A return to the Mozart was probably as expected. Very little change in the decor etc since we last stayed 10 years ago. However despite the dated furnishings, decor,etc, it is totally in character will the location & design of the Mozart. A key to open & lock bedroom door, no aircon,& shower over bath were not ideal. The hotel was very clean & staff were helpful despite not all having good English. The continental breakfast was quite good with the usual offerings, this was elevated to a superior level on the Sunday, it was a complete transformation. It looked like a lot of locals had breakfast in the Mozart on Sunday. Our room had a panoramic view of lake Constance. A supplement was applicable for lake view. The Mozart in Rorschach Switzerland is in a wonderful location with shops, restaurants, lakeside walks on your doorstep. The cost for a 4 night stay was in my opinion rather expensive, but it is Switzerland in a prime location. A return is definitely likely. E.

Hotel seems interior seems somewhat dated. The room was comfortable though and the breakfast reasonably good. The front desk was helpful. I did not like very much the bicycle parking in the garage, open to all and with nothing to attach the bicycles to.

We used this hotel as a pit-stop on a recent European road trip. It's a dated hotel but right on the lake, it's not the building you see in the pics right on the water, it's to the right of that one street back. In terms of location and value for money it's in line with other places in the area, the staff are friendly and the breakfast is very good. We had a small dog with us and he was more than welcome. Also a plus is the hotel has it's own underground car park for free, noting that there's only a stairs from the car park to the reception.

Die Angestellte im Restaurant hatte wohl einen sehr schlechten Tag. Sehr launisch und schnippisch. Ansonsten alles perfekt.

This place is tired & dated. I stayed here as part of a bike trip around Lake Constance so the hotel was booked for me, and this just didn’t compare to the other hotels we stayed at. I think the vibe is intended to be retro, but it just seemed dated, 1980’s. It was very clean, I’ll give them that. But you could have filmed scary movies here…that’s the vibe. Complete with a physical key to the room, not an electronic card. The bathroom is an 80’s tub but without a full shower door so water got all over the floor. There was good water pressure but I’d be worried about old people getting in and out of the shower without injuring themselves. Breakfast was ok, but not as fresh or as much variety as other places we stayed on the trip. It’s RIGHT on the train line and it was loud even while wearing ear plugs to sleep. I would recommend skipping this place.

This hotel was comfortable and clean. It is old style from maybe the 80s. We had a room overlooking the lake. It was beside a small railway line but even with the window open noise did not annoy us. Being in the middle of town and near the lake made it a very pleasant stay. The breakfast room offered a good range of food with good service.

Unusual. The hotel is in a particular style. The rooms are very clean and comfortable but are tired and it’s probably time for an update. Very 1980. The hotel is on the railway line but it wasn’t that bad and we slept through ok.
We couldn’t find much else open around the area so we ate at the hotel in the evening. There were no tables in the restaurant as it was already busy so we kind of sat in an open foyer area which was a bit strange. The young girl who seemed to work the restaurant single handedly was just amazing. A lovely girl who was working like crazy hard to keep everyone happy. She is staff member of the year for hotel Mozart. In summary the hotel is unusual. Very quirky but friendly and clean and suited our needs of a good place to rest on the cycle route but next time we might try another.

Alle in Allen ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Sehr gutes Frühstück, gutes Restaurant, die Gartenterasse sehr angenehm und die Möglichkeiten unsere Räder extrem sicher unterzubringen haben uns überzeugt. Sehr guter Service sowohl beim Check-in als auch im Restaurant.

Many of the reviews here are helpful and accurate. We stayed in a lovely room overlooking the lake, which was a gorgeous view. The room was sparkling clean, soft and clean linens and an immaculate bathroom. This was our first day of a self-guided bike tour. The bikes were in the garage locked up and our luggage was transferred seamlessly to the next hotel. Breakfast was included and was the usual Euro-array of breads, fruit, meats and cheeses. Our room was RIGHT on the railroad tracks, which I actually did not find as bothersome as other travelers. I may have heard one train, but they were not all night as others have suggested. The hotel is conveniently located to everything - sights, groceries, train station, bike route. There was no air conditioning, which is well established in the reviews, so we expected it. We had an enormous rainstorm come through that night which provided some relief. Although I understand the hotel cannot add air conditioning because it is historic, I definitely could see having a fan in the room as we have seen in many other historic hotels on our trip. Overall, I would definitely recommend and would enjoy another stay at this hotel.

Great Breakfast, clean hotel and friendly staff. Nothing else to report , property is dated and parking is not accessible by lift. Right next to the train tracks !!
