Pros:

The staff were brilliant. I arrived very late and they were very accommodating. Even sent security with me to get something to eat as their restaurant was closed

Cons:

Breakfast. I had a choice of had eggs or scrambled eggs. I eat very soft eggs. 🤔

Bannister Hotel
Pros:

The hotel is near to the main railway and bus station in north jo'burg and I think the tour bus stopped on the same street. Constitution Hill is also close by and a must for anyone wanting to understand the issues that have dominated the countries development. The museum and Nelson Mandwlla bridge are also just around the corner. All of the staff were very friendly with the restaurant bar staff happy to advise on what to eat and drink. Both the evening meal and breakfast were good value, try the spicey mince for breakfast. Room was also great.

Cons:

The location of the hotel, near to the university and set up suggests its a busy, lively place at weekends, but out of season and weekdays its comfortable.

At night people were drinking outside the hotel and was screaming which is why I was unable to sleep.
It was not a family place to live.
