Grand Orient Hotel Perai

The staff at The Grand Orient Hotel were so helpful and polite,would highly recommend this magnificent hotel ,the bonus to staying in this hotel is the water park at the back of the hotel which only costs 25 MYR($8AUD),,thankyou very much to all the wonderful staff at the Grand Orient

Lovely pool and good size water park for the family day out. However the changing room @ toilet need maintenance, some of the toilet has no light, very dark and very creepy. Told the staff about the faulty but no one even take a note for the repairing. Went back for the waterpark next day and still the same no lighting and creepy toilet, very disappointed.

Very dirty hotel and very dirty pool, no pool cleaning made garbage in the pool and around the pool very much like food waste in the pool, no staff guarding the pool no pool guard guarding the safety of guests very dangerous, very dirty room garbage under the bed, torn towels, toilet drain, dirty mini bar, dirty drawers, hotel aircond is not cold, very dissatisfied. hope the management can monitor and solve such problems in the future.

My 1st room got a lots of ant and in the middle of the night ac problem so i have to switch to new room . And the new room got like more then 5 cockroach inside .

The room is small, and just basic. The parking is very limited, however the guard is being helpful enough to arrange a lot for me.

The hotel offered small-concept water-part within the premise with 3 types of slides to offer and lazy river too.

Stayed here for the water park as well as our transit point for our next journey

Room was clean albeit small in size. Simple amenities was provided and water pressure was fairly good. The hallway leading to the room was also well maintained

There is only 1 lift serving the establishment so if there is a lot of guest the wait can be a bit longer.

Parking is available in front of the hotel but not many lots.

Water park entry was included in our stay. However there was some pitfalls during our visit. Towels was not provided for hotel guest which I find it to be troublesome. I would suggest the management to provide it for your guest. Using the same towel at the water park to dry off after a clean shower in your own hotel room is certainly a NO.

Workers was cleaning and scrubbing the dirt and algae in the pool while we were there. So you could imagine the end results. We didn't stay long in the pool. If the management plans to clean the water park maybe a better plan can be carried implemented without affecting the guests

Washroom and showers is available at the water park.

If it wasn't for the inconveniences caused it would have been a better stay

Maybe it's a lil late for breakfast to start at 7.30am.

I am a regular at this property. So far their service quality & cleanliness have been mantained..

Water park

Stayed at Grand Orient for one night for a business trip, and even though the hotel catered more for families with children (they have an in-house water park, though I did not try it out), I was generally satisfied with my stay.

Room:

Being relatively new certainly helped them in this regard, as the room's fittings were good and intact and the room itself felt fresh despite not having any windows. Bed and linen were comfortable, and the room was equipped with basic amenities. They provided an ironing board and iron which was a handy addition. Toilet was clean and modern.

My only complaint - the toilet had a small tube (most probably for draining air-conditioning condensate water) sticking out of the ceiling directly on top the sink, which dripped water once in a while. Definitely something that needs to be improved on. Also, the room was quite small and felt slightly cramped.

Location:

Not very conducive, as there are hardly any shops within walking distance. The nearest convenience store would be a petrol station, about a 5-minute walk away. You would have to drive out for food and goods.

Staff:

Professional and welcoming. No complaints.

Conclusion:

Even though the Grand Orient had an in-house water park and was more family-oriented, the hotel premises was generally clean. It is probably not well suited for certain target groups, so do bear in mind what your priorities are before considering this place. All in all an ok place, though I may have scored it higher if it weren't for the odd water leak issue in the toilet.

Its good for family to spent time together. I wish the bedroom more bigger. Thanks
