cleanliness and staff really nice and friendly.
They changed my booking, which I had paid online, and I had to pay in cash when I did the check-in. They didn't refund my online payment. The location is too noisy and messy.

The hotel isn't at the level of a 4-star hotel unlike the listing in Expedia. The furniture is wearing out, and the quality of the room and bathroom of a 3-start at best. And it's too expensive, and located in a dirty, unsafe, traffic-jammed area. It can be extremely difficult to book a cab in that area.
However, most of the staff members I interacted with were understanding and helpful.
The room was adequate. Quite comfortable... given the price. Staff were great. Hellen on reception was especially helpful in helping me to arrange transport etc.
The area isn't great. I only checked in early hours for a very early safari collection. It was fine for that bit I don't think I'd have ventured out on my own.

Location
There was not even a ceiling fan in the room, let alone an air conditioner. It should be mentioned somewhere so that people get a clear idea on what to expect.
I like the location of Lagos Hotel, the rooms are bigs and comfortable, the restaurant cooking nice foods. And the staff very kind, even the security guy in the entrance.

Would be nice to have air conditioning or fun in the rooms especially during hot season.

The location is not good for a business traveler. It was right in the downtown neighborhood of Nairobi where crime rate is high and traffic is terrible. The long buses park right in front of the hotel to pick passengers. The constant hones from the long busses was a nightmare.
The hotel is very noisy, could barely sleep. All through my stay, I couldn’t sit and eat in the canteen. it’s like a club, loud music everywhere till late night.
