Emplacement parfait. Tout est accessible à pieds. Piscine magnifique. Personnel serviable et petit déjeuner inclus alors que ce n'était pas annoncé. C'est la 2ème fois que j'y suis allé et toujours la même satisfaction.

Damp, dirty and dismissive, unhelpful staff

Stayed here for 2 nights. Arrived with heavy back pack, on my own. 3 members of staff throughout the building watched as I struggled to carry my bags up the large amount of steps. Upon arrival (2:30pm) there was no sense of welcome to Kuching, no information. I was staying on a public holiday and I wasn’t offered any info on what was happening locally to celebrate. No option of breakfast either, later found out it was available for guests but I was not informed.
Room smelled of damp, the dirt was disgusting, clearly mould on the walls, dirty sheets, smelly pillows. I had an issue on the first night, night porter was so unhelpful and the next day nobody checked in to see if I or everything was ok.
On my second day I was walking through reception area and I saw a family with young, agitated children try to tackle the stairs with heavy bags, whilst being watched by members of staff. I couldn’t believe my eyes so obviously stepped in to help the grateful couple. I don’t understand why the staff, even on a human level, are so inherently unhelpful, are they trained to be like this?
My room was not serviced, but someone was clearly in because the bottles of water replaced but bed was not made.

Pros:

Bel établissement , bien situé, avec une piscine très agréable. Personnel sympathique.
Petit déjeuner simple compris.

Cons:

Les parois des chambres sont vraiment très fines et on entend tout chez les voisins. On entend aussi les voitures dans la rue pour les chambres extérieures.
