Nasty and Rude Staff
Pros:

The manager Christie ruined any nice feelings we had

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel. What should have been an amazing 4-night stay with our great friends turned into a nightmare. Not to mention the uncomfortable, uneasy feeling I felt as I was being screamed at by the manager, Christen. I felt threatened.

Our first full day at the hotel was supposed to be an amazing one—enjoying the lake, doing water sports, walking into town for dinner, etc. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned.

My husband, my son, and our good friend with his son signed up to do the paddleboards. About 30 minutes in, the paddleboard would not stay afloat. It was sinking and could not hold them up. Naturally, the boys were getting very nervous and scared. The paddleboard simply could not hold all four of them.

After numerous tries of trying to get back on the boards, they kept drifting. They blew the whistles that were on their life jackets a number of times, but no one answered.

While this was going on, my girlfriend and I were getting very nervous. One worker did go out to look for them. When he came back, he told us that we had to call water patrol.

Thank God a man and his wife on their private boat saw and heard all four of them screaming for help. They safely brought them back with the paddleboard and oars.

When they returned, the boys were extremely frightened. At this time, the manager, Mark, came down. He saw how terrified and scared they were. He said, “You didn’t die, don’t be so dramatic.”

That comment alone was inhumane, but it also escalated the situation.

I then went down to the front desk to explain the events that had just taken place and how Mark, the manager, spoke to us.

Christine, the front desk manager, was so extremely hostile and aggressive toward me. In 43 years on this earth, I have never been screamed at in such a disrespectful manner. Like I stated before, I felt threatened.

On the 3rd day, our other friends arrived.

Excellent stay…..As always.
Pros:

3rd time stating here over the years. Great location, walking distance to all the shops and activities.
The food and bar service were excellent. Even a waitress to take our order and serve our drinks to us while on the beach!!
Free kayaks and paddle boarding.
Heated pool, several seating areas around the pool and below the pool to enjoy the view. Lovely beach area with plenty of lounge chairs available most of the time.

Cons:

We’ve always enjoyed seeing our stays here.

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time during our stay. Would definitely come back.
Pros:

Great location, close to the beach/lake and pool area and restaurants and entertainment.

Loved the area and the hotels restaurants and bar were great, too many steps to get to the beach.
Cons:

The pipes InThe walls were shaking and loud noises which would wake you up with someone taking showers or flushing toilet My bed was vibrating also.,several nights and days. Complained maintenance was called said pipes loose will fix never fixed. Very aggravating.

It was a great weekend and we were happy with the Surfside
Pros:

View and room were very nice. Roof top bar great to have. Housekeeping staff extremely nice and helpful

Cons:

Restaurant could not accommodate more than 4 people outside, too many beach chairs on beach makes beach very crowded.

I liked that the water toys were free and how close to town it was.

Cons:

I didn't like that they stop doing the water toys at 4:15 I also didn't like that they added a service charge to the breakfast bill and the parking was tuff.

I didn’t like the beach chair situation…people just leave their stuff on chairs and claim it but walk away for hours
