Homewood Suites By Hilton Schenectady

I loved the location of the property, the cleanliness, and the friendliness of the staff. The room was spacious, comes with breakfast buffet included, the swimming pool was excellent, and the amenities were great overall.

Although this once-excellent hotel near the Rivers Casino has lost much of its luster due to deteriorating maintenance/cleaning and a currently lousy breakfast experience where the kitchen staff declines to replenish the food and then packs everything up 15 minutes early, Shawana at the front desk was the shining light who made our stay at Homewood Suites in Schenectady a great experience. I recommend Homewood Suites in Schenectady just because of Shawana's commitment to a great customer service experience. I just wish the other staff could duplicate her hospitality and engagement.

Rooms are always clean and spacious. Staff are very friendly. I needed a pack and play for my baby and one was brought to me promptly. Highly recommend if staying in the area

This is our 3rd time staying at this location, the rooms are always clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Love the free breakfast.

Excellent service as always, especially from the front desk attendant, Shawana. She knows my name and always greets me with a smile.

This is a great location with very comfortable beds and absolutely the best free breakfast ever. In addition to the standard fare (scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, bagels etc) they had a breakfast taco bar with flour tortillas, pulled chicken, cheese, and 5 kinds of salsa. Coffee was hot and plentiful.

Good location only trouble was getting in and out of the parking lot. They need a light there.

Front desk staff pleasant! Close to where we wanted to be. Large room with all amenities needed!

The hotel has been recently renovated, and it still appears to be quite crisp.

The workers here don't seem to be too friendly and actually somewhat vindictive.

As a Hilton Diamond for many years, I should have been upgraded as soon as they saw my reservation. INSTEAD, I was given the smallest, and perhaps the worst room on the floor. They do have some nice rooms along the river, with a view, but I am looking at one of their roof's.

They don't give you enough towels, and the Kleenex box was almost empty.

The kitchen, if you want to call it that, was lacking in several aspects, and was missing a frying pan. However, they did eventually find one. Instead of the full two burner setup, they only had one and a half. The counter space is also much smaller than I am used to at other Homewood properties.

I am used to my local Homewood Suites in New Windsor, and they are truly well equipped.

The "breakfast" is very basic and anyone that compliments the quality of it obviously doesn't stay at mid level properties much. The eggs are powdered, the meat is some sketchy pork products and there is a lack of fresh fruit. It's not the Waldorf, obviously, but they could do much better. My suggestion would be to get some fresh food down at Market 32 or Hanniford and cook some REAL eggs.

Although the rooms and hallways do appear to be well kept, the common area's down in the lobby and elevator area are quite dirty. They get a lot of utility workers here, and they do track in a lot of mud. Nothing wrong with that, but they should pay attention to keeping up with it.

Overall hotel was clean and friendly but the air conditioning unit was noisy and kept us up all night. Maintenance was unable to take care of it.
