This place has the most amazing , friendly and enthusiastic staff I have ever seen. Service with a smile that’s genuine and warm.
Do take pics at sunset at the rooftop bar.
Rooms are very clean & nice. the location is just fantastic- you are in the V&A so no areas of commuting or security.
Strangely though in the rooms they don’t keep sugar and creamer or replace the empty water bottles/pack. Not a big one but that’s the only service oddity I found.
If you want to relax and enjoy the sun do not book here. So what they don’t tell you before you book is that the pool area is with ‘reservation’ so when you book the day before they’ll send an email stating would you like to reserve a table. This means if you are a 2 you are sat at a table with two chairs, no comfy loungers or sofas. Usually these things are first come first serve but apparently not here. The waitresses at the pool area were downright rude and were not accommodating at all. Radisson you need to up your game when there are so many good hotels nearby.
Excellent location with great and friendly staff. Stay was pleasant and will certainly visit again.
Need to get a few Halaal options at the hotel but thankfully there are a number of Halaal places at the nearby Waterfront.
Radisson RED Cape Town, V&A Waterfront — Terrific from start to finish. The fun begins the moment you walk into this cheerful red hotel. You’re invited to spin a wheel with surprise prizes, and I ended up winning a fantastic dinner during my stay. Radisson VIP members receive a bag of playful treats, and for those who aren’t VIPs, there’s no need to worry—the reception area is stocked with complimentary candy, popcorn, fresh fruit, and drinks for everyone.
The rooms are bright, filled with natural light, and feel fresh, modern, and comfortable. The hotel’s cheeky red theme carries throughout the property and adds to the upbeat atmosphere. Breakfast is excellent—I especially loved the jam dispensers, which keep everything clean and mess-free.
The location is outstanding, right next door to the modern art museum and just a minute’s walk to the wharf. The hotel is very reasonably priced and represents exceptional value. I would happily stay here again.
This was a really nice stay. I arrived earlier than the check-in time, and they were able to hold my bags. They even gave me a ticket to use when retrieving them at check-in, so I didn’t have to worry about my bags being given to someone else, especially since my valuables were inside.
The room was clean, and they have blackout blinds, which meant I could nap during the day. It was also very quiet. The breakfast was delicious. On one of the days, I sat outside in the sun because I was cold inside the previous day. I think I had been sitting under an air vent or something. I was the only person outside, and one of the staff members, Xolelwa, came back multiple times to check if I was okay and if I needed anything. I truly appreciated that.
The hotel is also within walking distance of the mall and restaurants. I even walked there at night and felt no fear as a woman, as there is security everywhere. 5/5.
If you are unsure about where to stay in Cape Town, this is the perfect location. Tons of shops and restaurants within minutes and a quick walk. Superb view from the rooftop restaurant/bar.
The hospitality and location were EXCELLENT.
The breakfast was very good.
I would definitely stay here again in the future if I am lucky enough to travel to Cape Town again.
Friendly staff. super clean rooms, spacious with a view ! Immediate help when requested assistance with settings of electronics in our room. Keenan checked us in , super efficient & friendly. Accommodated my requests for a birthday celebration. Super location in V&A waterfront. Will gladly return & recommend to any traveller.
After a shocking stay at RED in Brazil i was VERY reluctant to return... however i am glad i did and this property redeemed the brand for me!
The staff were all AMAZAZING and helpful and friendly (unlike Brazil!).
The Rooms are great with super comfy beds and the rooms are acually cleaned daily (unlike Brazil). We had a room right by the elevators and I never heard a sound which was remarkable.
The location is great just on edge of waterfront and away from traffic but central to all you need.
The only gripe is food in restaurant is super average but at least it was open at 1am so ill take it!
I regularly travel to Cape Town and have stayed off-site from the V&A and regretted it each time. When I found the Radisson RED I thought it looked like the perfect property and it truly didn't disappoint. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the V&A and Silo District but a slight distance from the main hustle and bustle that it feels quaint. The hotel itself is brand new, very clean, and the RED-brand is very trendy. While the rooms are a little on the small side they are very comfortable and practical. Some people commented on the hotel being noisy but I didn't find this to be an issue at any point. Opt in for the breakfast at booking - the spread is impressive and fresh. The only problem I had... I had to continuously search for availability because their inventory wasn't showing space for the dates I needed, even though the "flexible search" showed each nice was in fact available. This is a Radisson booking engine problem not the hotel.
We arrived early before check in got a quick freshen up then headed off to look around the waterfront. We got back to the hotel about 11 and they said our room was ready for us. The room was a good size nice and clean and beds were comfy.
All the staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant always asking how we were and what we had been up to.
Breakfast was great you could have the buffet which was hot and cold foods or they cooked to order too.
Hotel is in a great place on the V and A waterfront and both myself and daughter felt very safe walking around the nearby area.
I would recommend the hotel and will stay here again on any further trips to Cape Town
This is a large, modern, and very busy hotel—not particularly warm or intimate. Despite the 4pm check-in time, our room wasn’t ready, and overall the experience did not match the price point. The rooftop area was loud and geared toward a younger crowd. Definitely more suited to a youthful, party-oriented guest than someone seeking comfort or calm.
The hotel was spotless common will vocation couldn't have been much better. The view was great... the staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. Even the public washrooms were always spotless. The room wasn't big but it provided us with everything we needed. Highly recommended
Our stay at the Radisson RED Cape Town Waterfront was good overall — the location is excellent and the atmosphere is modern and lively. However, the cleanliness level was just good, not great, and the bathroom felt a bit small. The breakfast was decent but the same every day, which became repetitive. Despite these points, we still enjoyed our stay and appreciated the convenient setting and vibrant environment.
I had an enjoyable stay. The check-in was warm and friendly, and the team recognised me as a Radisson Rewards member straight away. I was offered a gin and tonic (or sparkling water) and given a goodie bag with small treats, which really made me feel appreciated.
The room was very comfortable, with a great bed and a good view. I slept well. The bathroom was also spacious and well designed.
I couldn’t ask for much more from the hotel experience. In terms of value for money, I would be hesitant to say yes – but this seems to be reflective of Cape Town hotels in general becoming increasingly expensive. Nonetheless, the service and comfort were excellent.
Friendly staff
stay was good over all
roof top bar serivce could be a little faster
drinking water in the rooms daily especially for international guests
Great Hotel, from location, quality of rooms and helpfulness of staff.
The hotel did a great job of accommodating a party of 60 people. The restaurant was good for buffet breakfast & menu choices during our stay.
I used the laundry service, very reasonable and items returned on hangers.
The roof top bar has a small pool & plenty of seating around the pool area, other seating was available especially good when windy.
The hotel is not far from the restaurants & bars on the waterfront.
Would stat here again.
I had an amazing stay at this hotel, as someone who is familiar with CPT, I was impressed with their level of professionalism and care. The room was kept clean, food gorgeous!!! Lovely hotel that accommodates for all people from all walks of life.
After a long over night flight great to be able to get early check in and some rest before trying the roof top bar and restaurant
DO NOT STAY HERE - there are much better hotels nearby at the same cost.
I gave this hotel 2 stars because of the location - it's nice because you can walk to restaurants/bars and you're right at the water. That's where the good ends.
The staff was NOT professional at all - almost like they had a group of high school friends working and hanging out....very sloppy looking. At checkin, I was asked if I wanted to join the Radisson Rewards program, and I said "no thank you". The guy kept asking me....after the 5th time in a row, I started getting annoyed. I understand that he probably gets incentives if he signs people up, but I was not interested and after asking once and me declining, he should have let it go.
Room - was ok, nothing fancy. When we checked in, I noticed there were only 2 large bath towels. Since it's my husband and me, my husband will use 1, and I like to use 2 (one for body, one for hair). I went down to the front desk and asked them if they could bring another bath towel to my room (standard request - I do this all the time at hotels). The front desk guy acted like it was such a burden I was asking for, but I was persistent that I needed an extra towel. They told me they would bring it to my room. We then proceeded to go out to dinner. Upon returning to the hotel at night, I walked up to my room and saw my towel sitting in front of my door ON THE FLOOR!!!! Come on - so you bring a clean towel and leave it on the dirty floor of the hallway?! GROSS - and now the towel is dirty. I also had an issue with the hairdryer - the adapter was broken. I went to the front desk and they gave me a new adapter....no problem. I went back upstairs to my room, and the adapter didn't fit the hairdryer. I literally had to bring the hairdryer down to the front desk and they had to search for an adapter that would fit. VERY frustrating.
Breakfast - food wasn't very good. ......everything was very salty.
Overall, I was underimpressed with this hotel and would not stay here again.
Parking meter arrangement is not familiar with me. If you are busy in and out of the hotel it becomes expensive but for safety, its good.
