Location
Bed pillow
Easy to find, doors were open 24hrs
They did not respond to any communication about a late check in. I arrived to an empty front desk and no key on the reception desk as I asked. In the end I chose my own room, which felt weird but there was nothing else I could do.
Close to chairlift and have an area for hotel guest to leave snow gear. Have laundry facility and clean onsen.
Great location
It’s a bit older but still maintained
Amazing location right near tsugaike ski lifts and gondola. Reasonable convenience store across the road. Nice restaurants within walking distance. Easy walk from bus stop. Sheets and towels were clean. They have a microwave for guest use and some amenities.
Very strange vibe to the hotel and it seems like they have not done any updates or improvements for decades. We waited at reception for a while before a staff member greeted us and then we had to wait an hour until check in. Rooms were small and bathrooms were not very clean with an unpleasant smell. The toilet flush was incredibly loud. Carpets were dirty. No room cleaning, linen changes or rubbish during stay. The pillows were filled with beans. Unusual facilities and I was not comfortable using the onsen. Drying room ski racks required a daily fee. Non-refundable once paid, otherwise we would’ve asked to leave and booked elsewhere.
Close to the gondola but is not ski in ski out which is stated, has a convenience store across the road
Disgustingly dirty, hotel lobby looks like a taxidermist that closed 20 years ago, our room smelt of a sewerage facility for our entire stay, tried to talk to staff about the issue and was waved away. Bought air freshners, opened windows but must have more pressing issues that staff dont care about. There is black mould on the shower curtain. Had to buy plush toys from the convenience store to use as pillows due to the supplied ones being dirty, stained and filled with beans.
Charged 2 months prior our stay, then sprung a "governmental levy tax" for their onsen, which we didnt use. Staff treatment was disgusting, room was disgusting, hotels wifi is slow and drops out constantly. The wifi from the main bus stop is faster and more stable.
Was also turned away from breakfast, which we had pre paid for (which is also not good, just get food from the cafe at the gondola) was told to grab our plates and eat in the disgusting lobby.
Overall the place is a joke, i have stayed in hostels and backpackers with nicer, cleaner rooms. Do yourselves a favour and stay anywhere but here
location
nothing
Proximity to ski lift. Able to store equipment in room.
Ski rental shop did not accept rentals in afternoons hence the queue in the morning was ridiculously long. More than 2 hours.
The location was great, the staff are friendly and the breakfast was nice
The dry room isn't the best, but good enough
The location is across the road from the lifts. They have ski rentals and a few restaurants almost next door. The convenience store is next door as well. The ski storage/dry room is super convenient.
The mattress was too hard. The pillow was filled with some beans, and it was hard to get used to it. It was hard to sleep on it on the first night, but once we hit the slopes the next day, it didn't matter anymore. 😄
Close to the lifts, comfortable firm beds in the Western rooms, with good shower in ensuite. Staff are excellent and make your stay comfortable as possible.
The meals were the same standard Japanese meals which got boring after our third night.
Good things:
- Close to slopes
- Breakfast/dinner was pretty good, but repetitive
Bad things:
- Room was very small
- Just keeping a bag after checkout costs 500yen
- Looks old and a little dirty
- Onsen is small and doesn’t look very clean
- Doing laundry there will cost you about 900yen
The staff did an excellent job accommodating us Australian non Japanese speaking tourists. Loved the location!!
That the rooms didnt get cleaned while we were there. Fresh towels daily would have been nice.
Great location within metres of Tsugaike gondola and bus stops. Nice onsen/public baths and sauna at the hotel. The room was very clean. Private but very small bathroom.
The property is fairly old and unappealing. The heater in our room was almost antique but still worked.
Very close to the Tsugaike chair lift
Old, but clean. Got everything you need for snowboard or ski
