A good place to stay. If you're in a private room, ask for the staff to clean the toilets every day.
Pros:

Overall, the room was fine. Spacious and clean.

Cons:

The composting toilet was smelly. We had to ask 2x for the staff to come and clean it. After that, it was OK but really, the toilets need to be cleaned every day or every other day. Also, the community kitchen could use an upgrade all around.

Cosy and peaceful stay
Pros:

Mayachik was a great spot to spend some time in the lake. Even though it's not lakefront like other villages in the lake, it has the advantage of having a really wide green area, from where you can see the mountains around it, it's very beautiful and stay in a calm and peaceful place. I was working remotely, and there are lots of outdoor work stations with outlets and a very strong and stable wifi. The sustainable approach, with dry toilets and solar energy, was also very nice. Their restaurant have great food, with a very reasonable price and a good amount of food, it's nice to have some deals there. There's also a very spacious kitchen if you wanna make your own food. Beds were very comfortable and showers had hot water with good pressure.
Also, staff was very kind and helpful all the time, with many locals working there as well.

Pros:

Die Häuser, der Garten, die Atmosphäre, die Menschen - alles in MayAchik ist freundlich und wunderschön gestaltet, eine Oase im wunderschönen San Juan la Laguna! Mit dem Tuktuk kamen wir entspannt aus der Stadt hierher, die Stadt ist aber auch fußläufig entspannt erreichbar. Wir haben unsere Zeit hier sehr genossen und weil es so schön war noch verlängert.

Disappointing. Overpriced
Pros:

Staff was nice. Hot water (when there’s electricity) is good.

Cons:

We were very excited about this place but turned out to be very disappointing. Very precarious facilities, like a camping ground. Loooong uneven stairs to access the rooms. Bad internet, no backup for power outages even when they lasted 15 hours, two in our 5 nights stay. Pictures look much better than reality. There’s construction work in the property making it noisy. Facilities are often reserved for groups and closed for other guests. We had dinner at the restaurant one night, waited 1 hour 15 minutes for our food. One of the dishes was cold.

Pros:

La chambre était très confortable, avec une superbe vue sur les montagnes. L'hôtel est particulièrement agréable, au milieu de la végétation et le restaurant qui sert petit déjeuner, déjeuner et dîner permet d'en profiter un maximum.
L'hôtel est légèrement excentré mais il y a beaucoup de tuk tuk ce n'est donc pas un problème.

super sejour à l'Eco hotel Mayachik
Pros:

Le personnel est vraiment super pour organiser, tours et transferts c'est top! l'hotel est très tranquille on peut se relaxer sous les arbres dans un hamac et manger sur place tout est frais et le petit dejeuner copieux. on a apprécié de pouvoir utiliser la cuisine commune quand le restaurant n'était pas encore ouvert.Le lit est confortable et la double couette bien adaptée aux nuits fraiches.

Lekkere maaltijden, behulpzaam personeel, ruime kamers, heerlijke massage genoten

Cons:

Neem je tijd als je er wil eten, want het duurt erg lang (tot een uur wachten). Jammer genoeg werd de drank ook erg laat gebracht

Charmant mais un peu décevant
Pros:

Le lieu est vraiment charmant. Le jardin et les espaces extérieurs sont agréables. Il est bien situé (le trajet se fait sans problème à pied entre San Juan et l'hôtel) et la cuisine est bonne. La vue sur les montagnes depuis notre bungalow était très belle.

Cons:

L'odeur dans notre bungalow était vraiment pénible entre les toilettes sèches dont le système est très perfectible et les évacuations de la douche et du lavabo qui sentaient très mauvais (pas de siphon).
J'avoue que, en règle générale, nous avons été un peu déçus par les installations par rapport aux descriptions et au prix.

Calme absolue, confort, bienveillance des gens ici, j’ai adoré !
Pros:

Le calme absolu de ce lieu. Les gens qui y séjournent. Les lits en dortoir sont confortables. Les repas copieux et tres bon. J’y serai bien restée une nuit de plus. Je recommande cet endroit !

Cons:

L’extérieur pourrait être un tout petit plus entretenu, mais sinon RAS
