Good location, pleasant garden, clean functional, large, light-filled room (bungalow). Good breakfast.
Pros:

Location was excellent, on a quiet street but still very close to the action. It has a very pleasant courtyard.

Cons:

The shower was a little tricky (to get the hot and cold mixed properly). When we stayed here 18 years ago there was more garden area…please don’t build anymore…the garden area is one of the best features of this hotel.

Great place to stay
Pros:

The location was great. It was off the main strip but within a 3 minute walk.

The staff were fantastic; so cheerful and helpful.

The room was big (we had a triple room), the shower was hot, the view of the gardens was lovely too. There is somewhere to sit outside too.

You can have breakfast there if you wish.

Cons:

In all fairness, what we paid for the room, there is nothing I can complain about.

Magnifique jardin au calme
Pros:

Emplacement au top à proximité de tout et au calme. Petit comedor Mary situé au bout de la rue pour prendre des repas, bon et pas cher
Le jardin est magnifique et bien entretenu, nombreuses fleurs et arbres fruitiers.
Excellent petit déjeuner et pas cher du tout.
Le personnel est très agréable.
Je vous recommande cette très bonne adresse.

Overall, the Hotel Utz Jay was a good value for the money.
Pros:

The breakfast was very good although not included with the price of the room.

Cons:

Dogs barking at night, some noisy children playing in the common area, and some loud guests in a nearby room

Vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel, centrale ligging. Goed ontbijt. Prima tour bureautje bij het hotel. Uitstekende wasservice. Rustige locatie

Cons:

Bedden naar mijn smaak aan de harde kant. ‘‘s nachts koud in de kamers.

We would definitely stay again.
Pros:

Felt like a little oasis inside the town of Panajachel, but in a central location convenient to everything. A great shower and a great breakfast.
