Excellent location in Ashland. Loved the interior design, the keeping with the historic landmark. Easy to access and great communication with staff.
Air vent in Room #6 needs to be redirected away from the head of the bed.
Beautiful decor, large rooms, clean, easy-to-use code system for entry, nice short walk to Oregon Shakespeare Festival
Air freshener smell was a little strong
We loved the charm and history of the hotel. Check in was easy, we didn’t have any issues during our stay. The size of the bathtub was amazing. And it was nice to be able to park the car and just walk around town all weekend.
Hard to say. Since everything was so welcoming.
Cool period details combined with modern conveniences. Quiet. Fireplace going.
It was eerie with no staff to greet or communicate. The coffee was cold. I drink decaf and that wasn’t an option. View of the “hills” was essentially a view of the neighbors and electric or telephone lines with the hills in the background. No one mentioned there would be steep stairs to lug my luggage up.
The room was comfy and sort of funky with a saloon vibe and some eclectic trinkets and antique dressers. The hotel was very cool with lots of history to read about and pictures from previous decades. It was pretty quiet, but we did hear other guests moving around/talking etc which can be tough because I’m a light sleeper.
There was a couple things that felt kinda cheap or cost cutting. Like there was no extra blanket, just a sheet and a top blanket, so I was kinda cold at night. The coffee in the room was awful, which is fair enough but when we went down to lounge it was the same stuff and there was no milk, just powdered creamer. Im a coffee lover, so for me that was a bummer.
Charming!
SPECIAL & LOVED. Those are the words I’d use to describe not only our accommodations but also the entire property. Everything was done to bring the property to life and show the property in its authentic state, which I’d use the first 2 words mentioned as the best way to describe it. It felt like a home you don’t want to leave but also one you always want to go back to. We are already planning our next trip back.
We enjoyed everything about our stay. The entire hotel had character and charm and the location was walkable to everything we wanted. We met the manager and could see the reason everything was so well taken care of and special. There was nothing we didn’t like.
Exceptional attention to detail, combining historical ambience with modern amenities and comfort! Beautiful space and quiet neighborhood, yet within walking distance of at least one fantastic restaurant.
It was clean
Toilet was gerry rigged. Black tea bags (no herbal tea) were available in the lobby but the hot water dispenser was broken so it didn’t matter that they had tea bags. There was only nondairy artificial powder for coffee— no milk or half and half. Also, the stairs to our room were very steep and very narrow. That may not be a problem for some people, but it was difficult for us.
The building was gorgeous and right next to a truly phenomenal cafe. The bed was really comfortable.
The coffee is a huge disappointment. "Gourmet coffee" in the morning is so not the reality. They have a home coffee pot that they set on a timer to go off at 7 am. They don't offer real cream or milk to go with it -- just powdered creamer. Really lousy coffee in the room, too. Half the lights in my room had burned-out lightbulbs. The towels smelled moldy.
A wonderful place to stay! Love the Victorian decor, friendly and accommodating staff. Roomy and comfortable rooms.
We were there for the plays, so it was a bit too far to walk. But the location is great for quiet and having time to oneself or couples.
Excellent property with great attention to detail. We enjoyed the soaking tubs!
Nothing
A lovely spot to stay! Our room was beautifully furnished and cozy with a historic charm. The outdoor balcony was a great way to wake up with a cup of coffee. Within walking distance of the theaters and downtown.
Very comfortable and quiet. Excellent restaurant next door. Parking convenient right at the door.
Unfortunate that there is no staff there most of the time.
