Overall disappointed being in the annex we were looking forward to the beautiful front building

Wonderful
Pros:

The hotel was lovely and my room on the second floor was fantastic with wonderful views of the water. The food was very good. The staff were extremely helpful regarding my booking arrangements.

In my opinion Muthu Alexandra Hotel is the best place to stay in Oban.
Pros:

Very good location, clean rooms, good breakfast, private parking, kind and helpful staff.

Very disappointed overall with our stay. Won’t be recommending

Location and free parking

Cons:

Uncomfortable bed. It rolled to the middle. Chipped bath. Nowhere to put your toiletries in the bathroom. The lift, second front entrance and stairs were in need of a good vacuum and mop.
Not enough staff to provide service. We went to the bar for a glass of wine and no one was available. When we went to the front desk no one was there.

Pay A Little Extra For The View!
Pros:

The location was perfect. Five minute walk along the Esplanade to shops, pubs and restaurants. View from the room was beautiful, well worth the extra we paid. The hotel was clean and staff helpful and friendly. Would certainly stay there again.

Cons:

Parking spaces are limited, maybe rearrange the parking bays to allow more spaces? Only a minor niggle though, and didn't detract from our stay.

Pros:

Very friendly and efficient reception staff. Nice bar and restaurant overlooking the bay - lovely setting.
Beautiful view from room.
Clean

Cons:

Dining room closed early.
Limited veggie / healthy options at dinner.
No espresso coffee at breakfast.
No soap for bath - only fixed at shower level.
No non dairy milk option for coffee in room.

Great location and stunning views. Good breakfast, helpful and accommodating staff.
Pros:

Our stay was very good, as usual. Twice a year I bring med - large groups to this location for an overnight stay on our way to the Isle of Iona, Scotland. While we didn't have dinner here, the breakfast featured a variety of great choices - it was perfect for our guests. Beds were comfortable although the duvet in our room felt as though it could have been wider to cover us both adequately. The facility in general could use a bit of an update however all in all, it was just perfect for our needs. You certainly cannot beat the view! If you're booking, it's definite worth the extra for a sea-view. We'll be back in August.

Needed a bigger (wider) duvet.
