The staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Though I had booked a double room I was given two singles but, only because the key given was incorrect ( easy to confuse a 6 & 9!) but it was no issue for me, I should have questioned it but with two dogs in hand easier to just settle in the first room!
We were late yet they still gave us a table in the restaurant, and OMG the food was amazing. Next day breakfast delicious, loads of home made pastries etc, the croissant and jam particularly 😋.
A wonderful hotel, lovely town with lovely walks for the dogs.

Unexpectedly lovely little French hotel within a short walk of restaurants and bars, very quite and pretty town.

Obligé de rester une nuit sur Chaumont pour prendre le train du lendemain, j’ai découvert un hôtel proche de la gare vraiment très agréable ! Tout était parfait : accueil bienveillant, chambre très propre et confortable. Un établissement tenu par des professionnels du metier, cela devient rare. Bravo, je le recommande à tous.

The hotel was spotless, with an excellent quality breakfast and dinner. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was an unexpected stop due to deteriorating weather on a journey from Aosta, Italy to the North of France. It was easily accessible from the motorway and is situated in the historic quarter of the town near the impressive three story viaduct. We were well greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist. We were lucky to find a parking space in the courtyard next to the hotel, otherwise there is on-street parking next to the hotel. Our room was a little small but had all of the adequate amenities. The restaurant and Bistro were well supported by hotel guests, locals and visitors to the town. The staff were very attentive and served a very tasty and typically fine French meal, accompanied with a pichet of local wine, which was reasonably priced. There was a bar on the first floor. Breakfast was equally well served and comprised a buffet of local meats and cheeses, accompanied by fresh spumante orange juice. Our check out was speedy and efficient leaving us with fond memories of a comfortable evening stop-over and our walk around the historic quarter, shops and welcoming bars of Chaumont.

I had a very stay, while in Chautons. The service was excellent and the accommodations comfortable. Being an old building, the room was cool and I needed to turn on the heat, but to be expected.

Nice family run hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. We would stay here again.
