Wonderful unique hotel in a fantastic location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking instructions were easy and clear. The Cobbler had incredible cocktails. Rooms and hallways are so warm and charming. Loved the honor bar and that fun concept.

I highly recommend 1898 The Post and would absolutely stay there again. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, making the entire experience seamless. Guest reception was warm and attentive, and Ruben and Thomas at the bar truly stood out with their excellent service and engaging personalities. The location couldn’t be better—conveniently situated and within easy reach of everything. A fantastic stay all around.

Nothing to dislike
A truly unique hotel in the center of the old city steps from everything. Staff could not be more accomodating. So many thoughtful details. Would recommend it to anyone. Top notch all around. Breakfast was excellent as were drinks in the Cobbler.

The stay was wonderful. Everything is thoughtfully curated and designed. The room is very comfortable and shower was very nice after walking all day. The staff was very friendly and provided lunch recommendations when I arrived. The bar was great!
The staff was very knowledgeable and also provided recommendations for my travels through Belgium. Breakfast was included with my stay. I thought I would only grab a small pastry but everything looked so delicious and I sat down for a full breakfast. I wish I could have stayed longer. If I travel to Ghent again I am definitely staying at 1898 no question.

Irish pub across street was very very loud the night we were there. Very loud group signing out front. Hotel had called police about.
Phenomenal 2 night stay. Stunning hotel in perfect position in Gent. Superb staff who could not have been more helpful. Loved the cocktail bar: great service, views and excellent range of drinks. Recommend it without hesitation and can't wait go back.

A wonderful hotel with extremely helpful and friendly staff, who provided helpful suggestions for restaurants that were just perfect. The bar is a lovely relaxed place to drink and eat (bar snacks), and the honesty bar is a lovely little nook for post-dinner drinks or daytime reading. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large bathrooms. The location could not be better, with taxis outside at all times, tram and bus stops across the street, and plenty of sites and restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
