Billiton Hotel

A nice clean hotel with simple rooms, and classy decor. Constructed from three buildings from different eras of Belitung mining - read the history in the folder in your room. Centrally located just off the main (only) roundabout in the main town on Tanjung Pandan. Good service, clean, and well priced. Reception can help you arrange island hopping, and other, tours. Is part of the group which owns Billiton Eco-Tent so you can visit this private resort for meals or to use the beach.

Fell in love instantly with the architecture. The history dated back to 1820 when it was first built. Warm and friendly staffs from the front desk to the restaurant.
Good location, everything is within walking distance.
Breakfast was a feast, serving varieties of local dishes, and also some western food.

Personnel parfait de même que l’accueil du manager grâce auquel nous avons découvert une plage d’une beauté exceptionnelle où il a installé un resort, l’Eco Beach Tent, en sachant que la ville présente peu d’intérêt
Concernant l’hôtel lui-même, il s’agit d’une bâtisse coloniale très bien restaurée avec des chambres d’un confort tout à fait acceptable
Il en va de même pour le restaurant qui cependant, était un peu près désert lors de notre passage
Très bon petit déjeuner et, repas de bonne qualité, tout en notant des vins hors de prix comme c’est souvent le cas en Indonésie
Au total, tout est fait dans cet établissement pour que ses hôtes bénéficient d’un séjour très agréable

Very good location in town, within walking distance to Tanjung Pendam beach, good coffee shops, souvenir shops and the traditional market.
The staff are helpful and friendly, environment and rooms are clean and smells nice.
It’s not a big hotel but it offers the warmth of Belitung.

The hotel is in a great location right in the centre of town.

Breakfast was provided, and there was an omelette station as well as some local fare. Their Mie Belitung was actually pretty good compared to those we tried outside.

What made this hotel really stand out was the warm hospitality of all of their staff. The team at breakfast were always so welcoming and provided a nice start to our day. Once one of them even apologised to us because some planes flying overhead were noisy (not even their fault!) Kudos to their housekeeping as well. Our room was always incredibly spotless - once we happened to come back during the afternoon and realised that they were mopping the floor of our room. Their housekeeping crew were all so friendly and happy all the time, always smiling, making conversation with us and asking about us. The hotel is slightly older than others out there, but it’s very clean and well maintained.

Hotel can consider providing face towels. The hairdryer was provided upon request but the wire seems to be loose and is not working well.

Situated at roundabout, finding foods and coffee are all within minute away. The room is always kept clean by a group of committed and friendly staff.

However the bed are too soft for comfort.

The restaurant staff is attentive and always make sure we were well feed.

The hotel is partly in a colonial building and also historical Chinese landmark. The rooms are in the new building, they are spacious, clean, with all the comforts including excellent shower, beds and linen. The staff is welcoming and helped us with all sorts of information. Belitung is just opening up to tourism and Western tourists are very few, it's very helpful to be in a hotel such as Billiton hotel, where the staff speaks excellent English and can give advise. Breakfast is mainly Indonesian but there also a few options for the Western taste and the staff is always ready to help.We also had dinner for two nights and it was excellent. Everything, especially fish, was local and fresh, well prepared and well presented. We had a wonderful long weekend, thank you Billiton hotel staff!

The staffs are very helpful in arranging the tour package, so we can enjoy the islands hopping (incl snorkling & swimming on beautiful beaches) and taste delicious local culinaries.

Struttura in stile coloniale al centro della cittadina principale dell'isola. Personale molto gentile e disponibile e ottima location per girare tutta l'isola magari affittando uno scooter (servizio disponibile in hotel). Piccole cose da sistemare per rendere il soggiorno perfetto: maggior scelta di cose dolci a colazione, piccolo refresh al look dei bagni e maggiore attenzione alla pulizia delle parti "non in vista" della camera. This hotel is centrally located. For one night we had to change to another place because of overbooking, and in comparison we highly recommend Billiton Hotel for the big size and clean rooms, some with fridge, very attentive service, good breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere. One day the manager even showed us the Chinese temple which is belonging to the place. The whole place has character and more is to come, e.g. a museum as the marketing manager explained to us. Organization of day trips was a little chaotic, bookings of the day before had been lost, but staff was flexible, quickly fixed, and gave good recommendations. All in all a wonderful stay. Thanks to the team!

We really liked the ambience at this hotel. The décor was tasteful and understated. The room was large and clean. The restaurant was very good and room service was efficient. We hired a car to explore the island further. The staff were very helpful.

It’s in the city center. The room is huge, so there’s plenty room for my little family. Breakfast is okay but I think the charges for my son was too much, so I decided not to have the breakfast on the second and the third day. I could easily walk to Warung Kopi Kong Djie (around 1-2 minutes) to have a good breakfast for a fraction of the charges.

The staff response was quick - when we asked them to change the bed cover because it was smell bad, they did it instantly. When we called the staff to fix the TV channels, they showed up very quickly (less than 5 minutes). We really appreciate it because it was during the World Cup’s knockout stage.

The bathroom is spacious, though, there is no shower curtain or door, so, the tiles are slippery and we had to wipe the floors after taking shower. Also, there’s no towel bar/rack to hang our towels.

We stayed at the Billiton Hotel and Klub for two nights and loved everything about the hotel. The hotel is small, friendly and well designed. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the dining terrace is a lovely place to sit and the food is excellent.

You can walk from the hotel to the nearest beach - the town is quiet and there is no traffic!

The hotel organised a car for us to go to other beaches. The sand was magnificently white and clean. The seafood on one of the islands (owned by the hotel) was spectacular - so tasty and fresh. Island hopping was fun and the scenery so serene and beautiful.

The hotel located in the city center, you can go by walk to mie belitung atep, the famous kopi kong djie or warung kopi ake. Room are huge, TV channel limited, cleanliness average, swimming pool is fine, even we're not swim there. Restaurant provide delicious buffet breakfast, limited choice but very tasty, you should try their nasi kuning. I also try their fried squid, it's perfect, not difficult to chew like other restaurant did. Staff were so helpfull and give us many information about Belitung without being asked. I would recommend this hotel to stay in Belitung.

This hotel located in the centre of Belitung which make you be able to travel easily. It offered great services during my 4 nights stay there. All the staffs are so helpful with our necessity. It is very nearby (walking distances) to culinary places. The room and the bathroom are spacious and clean.

This hotel is very well situated in the city center of Tanjung Padan. For that reason , I booked for the 3 nights at the end of my stay in Belitung .
When we arrived at the hotel on 7 april around 11 am, driving our rented car, it was raining. The entrance is widely open in front of the main round- about of Tanjung Pandan. There was nobody at the gate, (no guard in the security post). As we were not given any indication at the gate, we went first to the building in front of us which is the entrance of meeting rooms wing . Empty, dusty and smelling.
We then moved to the lobby entrance but nobody went to meet us although we use the klaxon several times.
We then climbed some stairs and saw the receptionist sitting behind a table -desk, but she did not move and still nobody came for helping. Then the manager came and just said that the security guard was sick. This cannot be an excuse as the security should be always guaranteed.
This manager was not happy to hear our complaints about the lack of security and no welcome but we still discussed about the room that we could have later when available ( we were not yet at check in time).
The discussion was tense we did not get a clear answer. They took the copy of my passport and we went out.
After some moments for thinking, as we needed a safe place and as we had no more confidence in the direction and staff of the hotel, we decided to call the travel agent who booked for us to ask to cancel the booking without charges, what was agreed by the hotel.

I stayed for 4D3N and it was good. The environment was so relaxing and exactly at city centre. The spa is affordable around Rp220,000 per person for 1 hr. Perhaps could have been better to have more variety in terms of breakfast selection.

We stayed for four nights and had a lovely time. The breakfast is decent with fruit, cereals and hot food. The evening food is very tasty and reasonable price! The staff here are so friendly even with the language barrier. Considering this is a three star hotel I feel you get a lot more for your money. The island itself is super friendly, smiles everywhere!! The beaches are stunning but at the moment are covered in lots of plastic waste which is very upsetting and puts you off swimming in the sea or lying on the beach. I would normally pick up trash off beaches but it was just too much, this is the sad reality of what humans have done to this beautiful planet.

Just coming back from Belitung for a short holiday. Me and my family (12 person including 2 toddlers) stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel’s location is in the city center but since The city is very quiet it didnt matter much. The hotel room is quite spacious with swimming pools in the backyard and each rooms has an access to the open area (the pool). Breakfast is standard, not so many options but the taste is good and the menu changes daily. The famous coffee shop “Kong Djie” is reached by walking. Over all, my stay in the hotel was quite pleasant. The hotel is standard but accommodate our basic needs.
