Amazing location and decor
The deck on the water was amazing. Watching fish right there. Didn’t even have to get in the water
Staff was ok. Not much service for the price. Jungle all around the room had a few unpleasant smells
La partie Sun deck
amabilité de la tenancière égale au niveau de la mer, fréquentation d’une école hôtelière.. jusqu’au portail..

Location
Staff was not extremely friendly
This stay was truly amazing, the only thing I regret is that we were only there one night. The atmosphere cannot be captured in photos, but think boutique white lotus.
We stayed in the princess Keona suite, which was impeccably furnished. I loved the attention to detail and the way the decor blended plants and the outdoors inside. We did not experience the mosquitoes, but my husband woke up early and opened the windows, and a friendly cat crawled in and curled up at my feet.
The breakfast service was lovely, delivered right to our room. Afterwards, we enjoyed some snorkeling off the dock.
The location is right on the water, with a green garden, and interior design full of traditional details
The information at the reception desk was hard to get. The bar at the beach area was closing early in the evening
The location of the property was amazing. In the evening we could look into lagoon and see the fish, sea slugs, and black tip shark. It was a very good snorkeling location. The use of the kayaks was great.
Property was initially hard to find. It was a bit tucked away.

Eileen the owner is amazing, very kind and very well organized and efficient.
It was our first time in Moorea and we could not have picked a better place.
The hotel is an oasis of zenitude , where nature and comfort, beauty and peacefulness mix perfectly.
Our suite had a secret passage leading to our private little beach , it was heaven on earth!
All the tours to visit the island can be organized by Eileen and there is a grocery store and a restaurant 5 minutes away, walking distance.
We will never forget the welcoming staff and the amazing sanctuary that Fenua Mataioa is.
Thank you Eileen and Anais for your kindness and maeva.

The rooms were immaculate and the staff were wonderful, the views of the water and mountains as well as the accessibility to the water were bonuses, this is my first time in a hotel outside of the United States and it really set a hugh bar and this will be my recommendation
They charge you $30 if you get earlier than check in time, just to be on the common areas that are empty. I have never seen this anywhere in the world.
They only serve breakfast and there are no restaurants close by.
We loved staying here! The hotel is beautifully decorated with lots of original art and plants. We had a generously sized outdoor area, and a nice roomy shower. The shared spaces are comfortable and plentiful in case you want to socialize with other guests. I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a unique experience. The gardens are amazing.
What is unique about this hotel? It is not a party hotel. It is maybe one of the most beautiful and relaxing hotels I have ever stayed at. I am 70 and travel a lot and spend time in beautiful hotels in beautiful areas.
The Fenua Mata'i'oa hotel tops my list.
We stayed in the Garden Romantic Suite. A large place. There was a nice outside shaded place to have breakfast with kitchen exposed to the ambient environment, complete with a cat if you allowed it.
The bedroom was large and very comfortable and air conditioned. I slept 8-9 hrs a night.
The bathroom and tub were in a Shangr-La environment. We had our own beach area with several outdoor outdoor areas to sit and enjoy nature.
Our room and every inch of the entire communal area have been immaculately and pain-stakenly decorated over 25 years. Everywhere you look you can't help but to be transfixed with the thoughtful cohesive beauty bestowed by the owner-designer.
You may think I am getting carried away and over romanticizing the property but my girl friend felt exactly the same way.
I was so nice to have a private dock where you can be picked up for an excursion or just to snorkel on your own or just have a drink and watch the spectacular sunsets.
If you want a romantic place for inspiration, I can't think of a better place.
Also, everything worked in our room and we only wished we had stayed a week instead of a few days.
Exceptional location, thoughtful decor and furnishing, nice lounge and bar available all day
Staff and leadership conversation can be overheard sometimes
