Ox Hotel Manchester

Easy to find, plenty of parking, close to motorway on ram, is a one way system around the hotel. Is part of a business building, reception on 2nd floor with 9 steps down to check in. Restaurant is 9 steps up on this floor. Lifts only go to floors in between so there are 9 steps either up or down to get to rooms. Managed fine with luggage. There is some redevelopment happening but only a little noise. Tram only 5 minute walk. Aldi next door.

Comfy bed, clean and tidy room, helpful staff.

Stayed in a superior room, well fitted out with a large bed, nice furniture all the usual amenities and a modern spacious bathroom

Take a mug and a teaspoon. (teacup and wooden stirrer)
Breakfast was really good, from a range of cooked to continental.

Room was very dirt and I had to be moved rooms

Room was clean and beds comfortable. Shower didn't work properly as the temperature tap was broken (not the heat limiter that they also apparently have on all showers, ours couldn't get colder either). Overall for the price it's great value for money, and had we been staying longer than a night I'm sure the shower issue would have been sorted by staff.

Predatory parking practices! If you even pull into this place you will be charge 60-100 GBP.

Sketchy facility. Looks like the just put beds in a run down office building.

We pulled into the lot here and looked around. Overall the place looked sketchy and run down. Ultimately we decided this wasn’t a safe place to stay. We pulled out of the property without even exiting our vehicle. Fast forward a month and I receive a parking violation for £60, £100 if I want to continue the appeal process. The signage they provided as proof of posting fee for parking is clearly inside the facility!

I only give 4 stars because the building itself is not too pretty but it is affordable and the rooms and bathrooms are nicely done up.
It has everything you need for a stay.
For us the location was convenient a 5 minute walk from Eccles station and a short bus ride away from Trafford Shopping centre. There is even a supermarket opposite the hotel.
Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Look location perfect for the tram and trains staff were great parking £2 24 hours only pay at reception not at pay Maxine breakfast fabulous really the only thing was my bed was absolutely the worst I have ever slept in the springs were literally hurting my back so much and that was the only thing far too expensive for the quality just been fair but honest

Hotel is in need of a good facelift. Corridors and doors etc very grubby. The rooms were fine but again walls and doors littered with marks. Beds very comfy and zero noise so definitely a good nights sleep.

Couple of issues:
No contact asking for ID to be brought and also nothing stating you need a physical bank card with you even if prepaid.

Secondly BEWARE of having a shower. Water temperature was LAVA and nothing else. Reported it day 1 and was not fixed. The Receptionist will try to deflect this being your fault for not continually chasing them though we did the 2 times we attempted to use.

Breakfast was very good.

Overall it was ok but probably won’t return.

Stayed at Ox hotel for a night visiting Manchester. Incredible and welcoming staff. Room was very clean and spacious. Easy access to shops and tram
