Location and conservatory
Old decor and high parking charge
Sehr heruntergekommen alles.
Frühstück ist okay.
Schöne Lage. Gute Fussdistanz zu Stadtzentrum.
Kalt im Wintergarten Frühstücksraum.
Frühstück Continental ist etwas pragmatisch.
Plenty to choose from
Location
The manageress was extremely rude, got wrong room, very tired property. Wouldn’t recommend this place, far better and cheaper hotels nearby.
Located downtown, next to the Jesus Garden, large parking
Outdated furniture and baths, you can hear thru walls
The hotel is in an beautiful location overlooking the river and a short walk across a lovely park to the city centre.
The hotel is very dated and poorly decorated especially in the corridor areas and there is no lift. Considering the cost the breakfast was very mean and uninviting. A full English breakfast cost another £12.50.
Very good
When we booked, we liked the high-ceilinged room in the main building, but staying in the low-ceilinged room at the back was a disappointment.
This is a wonderful hotel ,centrally located and near to alot of local amenities. Staff were exceptional and very helpful with any query we had. The rooms were old fashioned but very comfortable. however the doors were very stiff and banged loudly when shut. It was also not possible to lock them from the inside which was a concern for us ,likewise there was no lock on the bathroom.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and will certainly come back again. Many thanks!
We wanted to stay here after having secured the hotel for our wedding guests 20 years ago, and couldn't believe what we got for the price given the location, cleanliness, parking, friendly staff, and spacious rooms. Decor is dated but we're glad not to pay for that frankly. Superb stay.
Good location
Toilet didn't flush properly. told the reception but they didn't do anything about it.
The walls were paper thin, could hear everything going on next door.
Breakfast very basic
good location
Too many staircases very old fashioned place
Booked at Arundel as we travelled to Cambridge by car, and needed parking. Other options were either in the city centre (no cars) or too far away. However, to book directly with the hotel, you must phone them. All online booking is done by third party booking agents, which don't include parking or breakfast or both. We thought we had found the hotel's website, only to discover it had been thru expedia. Parking was 18 pounds extra per day in a relatively empty carpark. Arundel is a bit Arun-down. Beds are clean, but details such as mouldy shower grout and rising damp /peeling paint in the restaurant suggest it has seen better days. It seems to make its business from visiting academics whose grant money cannot afford them a better stay.
Clean comfortable and well positioned .lovely views over jesus green. But why did we get a garret at the very top. Pensioner and a half.remote and steep flights of stairs. No lift Needed a sherpa. Must have been other rooms available . Possibly because we booked via a gift token. Told breakfast included but it turned out only continental. Cooked extra. Altogether a middling experience
