Excellent service, a warm welcome as always. It is an absolute joy to stay at this lovely hotel. The comfortable rooms, log fires and delicious cuisine at The Marcliffe always exceed expectations.

Friendly staff very welcoming and helpful
The staff were the highlight for us. All of the little things that might seem like nothing all add up to fantastic service. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Location is great, close to the Deeside Line walking/cycling path, 40 minutes walk into the city centre and close to Royal Deeside. The property itself is very comfortable and has held onto its authenticity and family feel.
One small glitch when we had a very disappointing brunch when we arrived. I had to send it back and what was then produced was what I had expected in the first place. Unsure who was on in the kitchen that day, but it didn’t make for a great first impression.

Customer service is very inconsistent and not very well organised. Really difficult to park was asked to park at an adjacent property and walk to the hotel - not prepared to do that. Had to change rooms twice heating not working in the room

The room was stunning, with excellent facilities, a fabulous shower, and a really comfy, cosy bed that made it hard to get up in the morning. The whole space felt very high quality and well looked after.
The staff were exceptional and a real highlight of the stay; genuinely welcoming, warm, and couldn’t do enough for us without ever feeling overbearing. It really made the whole experience feel relaxed and effortless.
The hotel itself and the grounds were beautiful and felt very peaceful and well maintained, which added a lot to the overall atmosphere of the stay.
The restaurant was honestly some of the best food I have ever had. Even the continental breakfast was second to none: fresh, high quality, plenty of variety and clearly done with care.
We also enjoyed some absolutely wonderful treatments at the spa which I cannot recommend enough, especially the deep tissue massage! The spa staff are highly knowledgeable and gave us exactly what we needed.
Overall, everything felt top quality across the board and we genuinely could not fault anything during our stay.
The only thing that felt like a bit of a let down was the way a breach of my personal information was handled prior to our arrival, which resulted in scammers obtaining detailed information about my booking including name, phone number, dates of stay, and booking reference.
Based on the hotel’s own communications, it appeared this issue had already affected other guests, so it was disappointing that we were not made aware until after we reported receiving a scam message ourselves. This was not due to anything on our side, and I would hope to see continued improvement in data protection controls and faster, clearer communication to guests if incidents like this occur in future.
Regardless, I would absolutely stay again.
