Very clean and staff were professional and courteous. Peaceful and quiet location. Had an excellent experience!!
Minor repairs required- toilet paper holder was loose and a small corner of wall paper was peeled.
It was decent
Clean nd up dated
This is the best hotel in Lompoc, hands down. We’ve been staying here for years, and the experience has been consistently exceptional. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with a warm welcome. Every member of the staff is genuinely friendly, professional, and hospitable. From check-in to check-out, you’ll experience true hospitality.
The rooms are immaculate, well-appointed, and exceptionally comfortable. The beds provide a great night’s sleep, the linens and towels are crisp and bright white, and the rooms are well lit with spacious bathrooms. Each room also includes a private mini refrigerator for storing drinks and snacks, as well as an in-room coffee maker, which is always a nice convenience.
The on-site restaurant and bar serves some of the best food in the area. We had dinner there on the Fourth of July and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The burgers and steaks are outstanding, and the wood-fired pizzas are equally delicious. I highly recommend trying one. Despite the holiday crowd, the service was flawless. Breakfast was equally impressive, especially the breakfast burritos. The ingredients are always fresh, and the menu offers a variety of creative and flavorful options.
The hotel also offers ample complimentary parking with convenient access to the guest rooms. The parking lot is well lit and feels very secure. There are EV charging stations and accessible parking spaces located near the main entrance. Inside, the lobby is inviting, with comfortable seating areas and a cozy fireplace that creates a welcoming atmosphere.
The front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant teams are consistently outstanding. They truly embody the warmth and hospitality that Hilton is known for. The hotel is exceptionally well managed, and it’s clear that leadership has created a culture centered on genuine service and guest satisfaction.
The location is another bonus. It’s only about a 35 minute drive to Los Olivos, making it an excellent home base for exploring the Santa Ynez Valley wine country. If you’d rather stay closer, the famous Lompoc “Wine Ghetto” is only about five minutes away and features several excellent boutique wineries. It’s an easy Uber ride if you prefer not to drive.
While there are other restaurants nearby, I continue to recommend dining at the hotel because the food and service are consistently outstanding.
Overall, this hotel earns a perfect 10 out of 10. We always look forward to returning, and we’ll definitely be back again very soon.
I liked everything about the room: spacious with all of the necessities, coffee, microwave, comfortable bed. The bathroom also supplied all of the necessities. Friendly staff checked in made sure everything was up to my standards 🙂 thank you!
There was nothing I didn't like. All good.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Easter Buffet – Chef Knows Exactly What He’s Doing
I don’t throw praise around lightly. I’ve been in this business a long time—former chef at the old Dollar Bill in Lompoc (back in ’91), restaurant manager who turned around the Texas Cattle Company, ran Breakers Dining Facility at Vandenberg, and later worked in Hawaii including instructing at Kapiʻolani Community College. I’ve built and executed large banquets myself for Chamber of Commerce events and the 80 Christian Women group.
That said—this Easter buffet at the Hilton Garden Inn Lompoc was flat-out excellent.
What stood out:
• Seasoning confidence
No salt and pepper on the tables—and it didn’t need it. That tells you everything. The chef seasoned the food properly from the start. That’s confidence and skill.
• Top round beef (herb-encrusted)
Cooked right, flavorful, and didn’t need sauce. I skipped the espagnole—which actually looked legit and properly prepared—but honestly, the beef stood on its own.
• Garlic mashed potatoes
Excellent. Balanced, not overworked, not gluey.
• Normandy vegetables
Fresh-cut broccoli, carrots, cauliflower—properly cooked with a butter finish. Not soggy, not underdone. Exactly where they should be.
• Omelet station & service
Solid execution. The chef was engaged, checking tables, interacting with guests. Staff across the board were upbeat—you could tell they knew they were putting out a strong buffet.
• Savory side of the kitchen
This is where they shine. The breakfast gravy (looked like scratch creamed chipped beef) wasn’t typical institutional product. Tasted like someone actually made it, not poured it.
• Desserts
Carrot cake tasted scratch-made. Strawberry shortcake—borderline. Could be scratch, could be high-end vendor like Sarah Lee. Still good, but not the star of the show.
Overall take:
I’ve run banquets in this same town, and I’ll say it straight—this one was better than what I was putting out back then.
For about $60, this is a strong value. I just came from Las Vegas buffets, and this beat them. No joke.
Who should book this:
• Local business events
• Chamber of Commerce functions
• Community organizations
If you need a reliable banquet operation in Lompoc—this is it.
Final word:
Hang on to that chef.
I love this hotel. While travelling, I got very ill, and the room was a comfortable place to rest and recover. The rooms are large and clean with very comfortable beds. Staff was helpful and kind. I would definitely stay here again.
Returned for a third time for the clean, comfortable, spacious hotel rooms. Like the secure hotel entrance and friendly front desk greetings. Breakfast delicious and service by Madeleine is consistently great--she remembers regulars' order preferences. Great to have a restaurant on site. I ate there a couple times for dinner and the food was pricey but good. The gym was clean and empty most of the time.
Returned a second time for the clean, comfortable, spacious, modern rooms (King bed). Nice to have a microwave for a nine night stay. Booked with breakfast included--delicious and filling. Staff greetings and smiles make this hotel. Floor 3 right above the hotel entrance has 2 beautiful mature palm trees that provide a nice green screen in front of the window.
The wall nightlight on my side of the bed was out and the lamp (knob) on my nightstand was nearly impossible to turn on and off. I notified reception, but they weren't able to fix it or replace/exchange the lamp. I've stayed in other rooms and the lamp knob was not hard to turn at all.
Clean, comfortable, spacious. Loved the nightlight in the bathroom. I wish more hotels would provide one. Always a warm greeting from the Front Desk whenever you arrive or depart the hotel. They do a great job with breakfast! The server Madeleine starts your day with a smile and warm hospitality. I chose this location because I had family doing rehab at Lompoc Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and I didn't want to rent a car. I could either walk or take a short Uber ride to the facility. The hotel is within walking distance to many restaurants or the grocery store.
Wish there were better views, but considering the location on a busy strip surrounded by parking lots, everything was fine.
We’ve stayed at this hotel several times because it’s one of the closest options to wine country, and every visit has been consistently good. We were there again this past weekend and had another very enjoyable stay. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and it’s clear the housekeeping staff takes pride in their work. The bed was medium-firm and very comfortable, the linens were crisp and bright, and the towels felt almost new. We appreciated the Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries as well.
This time we booked a suite, which worked out great. The living area had a desk, sofa, and TV, and the bedroom had another TV, a comfortable chair, and good lighting. It was easy to relax and spread out. Brianna was very helpful when I phoned about needing some information in advance, and she even called me back to give me more information. That was very kind! In fact, everyone we encountered at the front desk was so welcoming and hospitable.
We also ate at the restaurant during our stay. For dinner we tried the tri-tip sandwich and the chicken club, and both were fresh and tasty. We shared a dessert afterward that was also very good. Breakfast was just as nice, pancakes and a breakfast burrito one morning, and burritos with fruit the next. The coffee was fresh and the orange juice was cold and refreshing.
Our server, Azziris, was especially kind and attentive, during our dinner and the bartender made excellent drinks and was fun to talk with. He checked on us and asked us if we needed anything more, and was just really kind. The restaurant has a lively but comfortable atmosphere and felt very clean and well run.
The lobby has plenty of seating if you want to relax or meet up with friends. Parking is easy, the property is well lit, and we felt safe the entire time. We also liked that key access is required in the evenings.
The night audit staff were especially helpful and friendly. They answered questions and made sure we had everything we needed. During our stay we were able to watch a rocket launch, which was incredible. I didn’t realize how close the hotel is to Vandenberg, and the view from the parking lot was surprisingly good. The staff even shared upcoming launch dates in case we want to plan another visit.
The location is convenient about 30 minutes from Los Olivos and only a few minutes from tasting rooms in Lompoc which makes it a great base for exploring the area.
There are several hotels nearby, but we keep coming back to this one because the service is reliable, the rooms are comfortable, and the overall experience is always positive. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. It’s clear the hotel is very well managed, and that shows in the way the staff treat guests. There’s a genuine sense of kindness and hospitality throughout the property. A lot of thought has obviously gone into making this a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
It’s not easy for a hotel to get so many things right, but this one really does. Because of our experiences here, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.
Loved staff friendliness, that there was room service daily, size of my room was great and the availability to the hot tub
Size of pool towels
We had to wait over an hour for our room on our wedding night
That it took over an hour for the receptionist to give us the key to our room
did not eat in hotel
