Bathroom door didn't not close fully, light on side of building shone through the curtains, no black out curtains, curtains not affixed to rail properly, staff moaning to eachother about other staff and booking.com in earshot of guests at breakfast, extremely hot room, bathroom blind inoperable

Room was cheap so was not expecting a huge amount, room was clean with nice towels and fresh bedding. Cleaner obviously does a good job.
Shower was terrible, we had to have a wash using the sink as the shower was only dribbling and was either boiling hot or cold, location was noisy, room was suffocating (there was a fan provided that did help) on the way up to the room it had the old man pub smell and we could smell a poop down one of the corridors from one of the other rooms lol also just a warning if you struggle with stairs don’t book.
Very large room and indeed a second room same size so could have easily held 4 adults for the same price as 2; Breakfast was compact both in size of room and the spread but it was good and pretty much everything you would like for breakfast apart from hot items like bacon, sausage, eggs etc.
The entrance, stairwell and landings seemed quite austere on arrival but were very clean and softened once familiar with the building. We didn't really have hot water but it was lukewarm such that a shower didn't leave you shivering.

I didnt even stay i was there an hour and left wasnt clean walls was marked bed was uncomfortable it smelt
This place was booked for a judge from Ireland. She was on her own but felt comfortable at all times. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was excellent.
Probably not having to sit in the bar for breakfast but it wasn't a problem.

Bed was comfortable.
Very noisy through the night with traffic and police cars/ambulances. Could hear everything and woken up several times. Shower was like a dribble and absolutely freezing cold no matter which way you turned the temperature knob. Strangely the sink water was fine and hot. Had to leave early for work and ended up having to not use the shower which is disappointing and no compensation offered. Just a “we’ll look into it”
