The bed was good and the woman who checked us in at 10 pm was very friendly.

It's a great place. People are nice. Room was clean and had plenty of space to walk around for the two of us. Great location to find a variety of food options.
The breakfast was a bit iffy one day because they ran out of a lot of things and what was left was not fresh. The second morning was much better though. I will say that as we were leaving they were adding fresh food so we just had bad timing. We have stayed here before, which is why we returned. The room we stayed in the first time was away from the traffic noise. This stay we were on the traffic side and it was noisy.
I booked and paid for a room through booking.com 4 days prior to our arrival. We had reservations at the Country Inn for the rest of our time in Portage but when we decided to leave a day earlier this hotel was the only one with a family suite available so we took it. I messaged them the day before we arrived to let them know we would be arriving late. When we arrived that evening at 10:30 they claimed there wasn’t a reservation for us. The lobby was overflowing with families in town for a baseball tournament. Even after showing him the receipt and booking confirmation number he couldn’t do anything for us. Told us we’d have to talk to the person at the front desk in the morning. We had no choice but to pay for another room at that point which was not a family suite. Instead it was a king suite with a pull out bed. No sheets on the pull out bed. The carpet was stained and sticky. The whole experience was terrible and I’m still fighting to get refunded. The person at the front desk in the morning was useless. I would bet they gave our room to one of the baseball families. Hotel was run down and outdated. I would not recommend staying here to anyone.
