3.5/5 stars
The bed and especially bathroom were quite nice. I feel the lack of a mini fridge or a small kitchenette brought my view of the hotel down along with construction upstairs that was quite loud, that I was not briefed on. Additionally, there was some staining/decay in a small part of the room. The restaurant had excellent food, albeit overpriced. The pool and outdoor patio were pretty standard. I enjoyed the view I got at least. This was better than most hotels I’ve stayed at but improvement is needed in some aspects. Staff were very kind to me!
The hotel charged my credit card after I had already paid on Booking.com
I arrived at the StateView in rough shape — recovering from pneumonia and bronchitis, exhausted, and honestly just looking for a quiet place to rest. I wasn't expecting much beyond clean sheets and a door I could close.
Charles and Tristan at the front desk changed that before I even got to my room. They weren't just professional — they were present. They noticed I wasn't well, asked how I was doing like they actually wanted to know, and made sure I had everything I needed without making me feel like a burden. That kind of attentiveness doesn't come from a training manual. It comes from people who genuinely care about the person standing in front of them.
The room was beautiful — quiet, flooded with natural light, immaculately clean. But what surprised me most was the grounds. The next morning, I spent time just sitting near the lake, watching the water, not doing anything at all. I can't remember the last time a place made me feel like doing nothing was enough. There's a quality to this property that's hard to describe — it doesn't rush you. It doesn't overstimulate. It just holds space for whatever you need.
By the time I checked out, I felt like I'd recovered more than just my health. I felt like I'd reconnected with something I'd been too busy to notice I'd lost.
If you're looking for a hotel, the StateView is excellent. If you're looking for a place that reminds you to breathe, it's one of a kind.
Thank you to Charles, Tristan, and the entire team. I'll be back!

Tristan and Charles at The StateView Hotel, Autograph Collection truly made my experience exceptional. Both were incredibly kind, personable, and genuinely dedicated to customer satisfaction. Their hospitality stood out from the moment I arrived and makes one completely welcomed and valued.
StateView as a location never disappoints, but when you combine such a beautiful property with service of this caliber, it sets a standard that few hotels can even come close to matching. The level of care, professionalism, and warmth from Tristan and Charles elevates stay to another level.
Highly recommend StateView to anyone visiting Raleigh — the hospitality here is second to none.
Lovely location with nice rooms
Overall stay was great. Charles and Tristan were fantastic!
This is such a nice, clean hotel. Charles and Tristan checked us in for a very last minute stay for an unexpected trip to help my NCSU student. They made sure we had exactly what we needed and were set up for a comfortable stay.
We were recommended this hotel for a wedding guest stay, but unfortunately our experience has been disappointing so far. The towels in our room were stained and visibly worn, and the red blanket on the bed appeared unwashed and had a strong body odor smell. When we asked the front desk for a clean replacement, we were told they weren’t sure if another one was available, which was concerning. Overall, this property has not met the level of cleanliness or quality we typically expect from a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel.
Location
Showerhead barely worked
Also appeared to be under-staffed
Algehele indruk rommelig.
Ubicación y entorno
Large parking area, spacious rooms, gym open 24hrs, flexible service
Lack of kettle in the room, no magnifying mirror in the bathroom
This is a very tranquil hotel in which is just far enough from the roar of the city to have a great escape but still close enough to enjoy Raleigh. In addition, I was able to experience some top notch service. Sometimes it’s the small things. I went to dinner at the restaurant and Jayana went out of her way to get me a Diet Coke. It was a small gesture to her but huge to me as I know Marriott is a Pepsi company. She could have told me that getting a Coke was not possible but instead she went out of her way to get me one. It’s this kind of service which sets a server apart. Thank you Jayana! I hope you are around the next time I stay at this hotel.
There was no water in the room, at the desk & no regular water even for purchase at the market. As a lifetime platinum
