Breakfast was beautiful, would be nice to change it up a bit every few days as if your there for a few days there isnt much variety of different food after the 4th or 5th day. Great selection though and was delicious.
The only downfall was the location being on a very busy road. We were so close to the beach but found the footpaths were very unstable and rough around the couple of blocks around the hotel and the main road is very busy with cars getting up to some quite high speeds but we ended up just getting a grab to the beach which was super cheap and avoided us having a trip/fall in the dark
Great value for money and pool was great.
Really disappointed in the room service. I rang and was told that multiple things I wanted weren’t available particularly around pizza’s and other basics.

Great staff, clean, facilities were terrific.
Footpaths outside of hotel were horrible. Had to watch my steps very carefully for about 500 meters. Broken pathways and holes were very dangerous.

Location is on a very busy road which we could hear from our room. But nothing a Grab or Bluebird ride can't fix. We did walk to the mall & beach but the problem is the poor state of footpaths from the hotel.
Lots of noise from luggage trolley going past the room during the day. Also noise from chairs being dragged across the room on other floors.
Bed, I know that there is no one fit for all bed types and normally I dont remark on beds and I've traveled extensively through Asia, but this bed really gave me a sore back to the point I had to use a bedspread off another bed to make a pillow top to lay on. My wife had no problem with the bed.
Breakfast wasn't hot except the freshly made eggs or omelet. This is very common throughout Asia. Not a lot of selection for the western diet at this hotel. Some of the food wasn't covered.
Restaurant food was mostly good with a reasonable selection however the Ozzie steak was like a rubber tyre.
Staff were constantly on hand to remove dishes from table which felt like you were being watched the whole time.
Don't be alarmed if you spot a gecko on your roof or walls. Harmless & suppose to be good luck.

My boyfriend and I went on our babymoon and had a very nice stay at Grand Palace Hotel. We were greeted by some very kind staff that surprised us with a babymoon cake which I found very sweet.
Our room had direct pool access and was on the ground floor. The room was huge and super clean. Bed was comfy.
The breakfast which was included in our stay was okay. The coffee could have been better.
The pool was very cold so we didn’t really swim at the hotel but went to other hotels/day clubs to swim. It was a bit sad because the pool was really nice and clean and the pool area in itself was also very nice. Like a little oasis with plenty of free pool loungers. We just couldn’t get ourselves to swim due to the cold temperature of the water, which sucked because we got the direct pool access with the intention of swimming a lot.
Overall we had a nice stay and the hotel is gorgeous!
The pool was, as previously mentioned, way too cold. Breakfast (and coffee in particular) could have been better, but it was okay.

Nice big room with access to garden and pool area. Good air conditioning and staff were really friendly. Location was a bit of a walk to the waterfront but we were able to walk most places. Pool was clean and big.

The fridge wasn’t cold it was all iced up like it didn’t work properly
