The hotel suites my proposed and I will use it again but other travellers may want more
Pros:

The hotel is clean and warm but it does not offer a breakfast which could be an issue.

Cons:

There were parking slots available but the car park was closed which caused me a problem with the security of my vehicle, suitable parking and a long walk from where I could park overnight

An affordable hotel, with friendly staff, in a good location.
Pros:

The room was nice, the location was good (near the station and the town). The staff were friendly and helpful. They were happy to replenish milk etc. We enjoyed that the hotel was a historic building.

Cons:

It was a shame you couldn't get breakfast there. Also I was uncomfortable that there didn't seem to be any staff there overnight. And on the Saturday there wasn't any staff in reception in the evening.

Acceptable but not great
Pros:

Large room with two separate rooms and a big bathroom. Tea and coffee refilled each day.
Good decor inside - looked a bit run down outside - not the nicest surrounding area.

Cons:

Noisy road, really lumpy and uncomfortable bed - particularly the children’s sofa bed. Uneven floors. Loud road noise with leaky windows. Very tight car park. No breakfast despite there being a lounge/restaurant.
Unfortunately a bag of medication was thrown out accidentally during a room clean. Thankfully relocated on communal bin and staff very apologetic.

Very average
Pros:

Location was good for the event we were attending. Room was a good size and bed clothes were clean.

Cons:

Reception clerk was difficult to understand. No breakfast option when advertising suggested you could add this to your room. Hotel had lots of potential but just looked tired and a little unloved, which was a shame. Lots of Road noise late in to the night and early morning. Room wasn't very warm and water wasn't very warm for a bath/ shower.
