My stay at Hotel Mahabs was wonderful! Thank you.
Pros:

I loved the beautiful, clean and large pool with the trunk and branches of a tree hanging over it. The Shore Temple and the beach were just a short walk from the hotel. The staff was always cordial and helpful. It was very kind of them to offer me an upgrade on their own to a quieter and more beautiful room on the second day of my two-day stay at the wonderfully green Hotel Mahabs. I loved the quaint old furniture and the paintings of chrysanthemums.

Es ist wunderbar im Pool unter den grossen tropischen Bäumen zu schwimmen. Überhaupt sehr schöne Atmosphäre. Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal! Saubere Zimmer.

very disappointed with the property
Pros:

the room size was good; in the family room (2 bed, 2 bath) one ac worked eratically. beds were comfortable; location of the property was good very close to Shore Temple, bus stand, shopping, food options and the sights

Cons:

the property was very run down; fear of tripping on the uneven surface is real; no lift facility; family room could only be accessed via spiral staircase which wasnt suitable for senior citizens. this is not disclosed in the listing. they called 20 minutes before we arrived to ask if senior citizens were travelling. since we were travelling with senior citizens we had called the hotel directly 2 days before and the lady confirmed that ground level room was available. When we reached the property she absolutely denied having the conversation; even tho we showed proof of 5 calls having been made, they said a very bland sorry. we were allocated a 1st floor family room through an uneven metal staircase and my 85 year old mother had to climb up and down several times. they had allocated all ground floor rooms to others before we arrived. Bfast price on booking.com was Rs. 350; but they charged Rs. 400. It was listed as pet friendly property, but they didnt mention that they will charge Rs. 500 per day. Pool had too much chlorine which irritated the eyes. the pool changing room was horrible. Wifi never worked. Telco network was bad inside the room

Pros:

It was a good stay overall. Really nice rooms and clean.

Cons:

only issues with walking out of the hotel, and a lot of mosquitoes.
Also hotel room was not supplied with water, shower gel or soap, towels, tea or coffee until requested. Had issues with getting drinking water. Hope this is something they work on for future travellers.
Rooms should be at least cleaned everyday too.

Pros:

Property is not well maintained. Everything leaks in the bathroom including WC . Towels, bed sheets everything is dirty. Pool looks clean but looking over all maintenance you don’t wNt to risk getting into the pool. Will not stay there again

Geyser was not fitted in the rooms i stayed, hence winter months, it would be a challenge

Pool was deep but small in size, but still enjoyable, can give a plunge. Room was very spacious and bathroom was very huge too, water pressure and fittings were all decent. The AC was working, but for the size of the room , the cool air circulation needed with an dditional fan. Also we had given room only in the top floor, despite asking them multiple times to give in lower floors. No Lift is a big minus, but we managed. Restaurant is there inside, but we did not give a try. Location is in the center of the town, hence food, essentials are available very easily. Right opposite the Hindu Temple, should not miss visiting the same, as the God is very unique here

Cons:

staff could welcome guests in a better way than giving them a kind of treatment if booked from booking.com, which was unexpected for me. If so, they should not have listed their property in booking.com

Walkable to reach all areas.
Pros:

Comfort to stay with family in greenary place.
Ambiance are very nice.
Neat maintenance and polite staff.
Restaurant foods are awesome.

Cons:

The letters are so dull in name board, so just change those in both entrance.

Relaxed space and excellent food in the restaurant
Pros:

This hotel was an oasis of mature green trees and a beautifully clean swimming pool in the central courtyard.
We were on floor 3 and at the top end in a deluxe room. Very good shower and hot water .
We got fresh breezes on our balcony and it was a quiet room.
Mosquitos very few on the higher floor.
The staff were very caring and the housekeeping supervisor Shanmugan and in the restaurant Arjun were outstanding in customer care. The kitchen had really good cooks and we enjoyed every meal.
The reception staff were very good and arranged the hotel taxi to take us to Chennai airport.

Cons:

I really didn’t like leaving the hotel as it was so restful and there were no pavements as such to walk with ease . Always to be aware of traffic.
