The breakfast was good. Check-in employees friendly. I know keeping a hotel looking good and clean in a college town is harder than most jobs, but I expected more from Embassy Suites.
Overall cleanliness of hotel, hallways, walls, etc. The room we stayed in had large marks on the walls, probably scrapes from suitcases. Tabletop was dirty in kitchenette. Chairs had dirty seats. Bathroom toilet was not clean on the front down to the floor: pee. I did some cleaning of my own to make the room clean for us.
It was a perfect location with a great breakfast and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.
Fantastic hotel so quiet and awesome breakfast
Great location and excellent breakfast
We got a corner room and it was Very clean
This place was amazing! Friendly staff and loved the breakfast in the morning as well as the evening snacks. Also hiking was within 10 minute drive. Truly recommend this hotel!
An excellent hotel.
The staff are engaged and welcoming. The lobby is large, varied and easy to use.
Breakfast is very good, with a variety of egg based meals made to order. A notable feature is the evening social, in the decent bar area. Two free drinks per person, between 5-6.30pm, as well as snacks of cheeses, dips, celery, tomatoes, nuts etc. Food is available all evening too. It is very welcome, as there are no other bars/restaurants in the immediate area.
We had a two room suite, which was exceptionally quiet, despite being on a busy road and next to the elevators. Not well designed tbh, the living room area was a bit narrow for my taste and it’s lacking in colour, unless you like brown
Hotel parking is $25, and completely unnecessary to use, as there is ample street parking close by.
If an external room is important, choose your room carefully…(maybe book by phone to make sure?) See my room plan photo.
Note, it is not an easily accessible walk to Pearl St Mall, the heart of downtown. It is a brisk 20 walk, along tedious, traffic filled roads.
A very good hotel,
We are a family of four with 2 teens. We stayed in a 2 queen, 2 room suite. The room itself was a good size for us. The pullout was clean, but we had to ask for linens to make it up. The bathroom has a door from both the sitting room and the main bedroom which was convenient, but also required some reminders about knocking first. Heating/Cooling was easy to manage. The bed and bath linens were clean and the surfaces were clean, but the walls, couch, lamps, etc were showing age and wear with some stains that put me off but ultimately we felt that the room and items we were sleeping on were clean. Parking on site was easy, and they charge for parking but (at least when we were there), it seemed to operate on the honor system. Staff was helpful in letting us know when our room was ready. The lobby and dining area were very nice and comfortable - stylish and updated. There is a fireplace in the bar / eating area that made it nice and cozy to sit. Morning breakfast was standard, and we all liked it. The staff on site during breakfast was welcoming and friendly. One nice touch was the rooms and common areas seem to feature local art and artists.
Wonderful stay! Ryan at check in was so kind and informative and Audrey went above and beyond to make sure my family had an amazing experience. The kids enjoyed the pool & we all loved the breakfast. 5/5 stay for us.
cleanliness, upgrade to a suite
$12 candy bar from the lobby
The friendliness of the staff towards my dogs. The treats sitting around for my dogs. Seeing other guests day get better when seeing our dogs. One guest told us she was having a bad day and came over and visited our dogs. You could see her face light up.
Notiing
Very convenient and clean. Good breakfast.
Door to bathroom didn’t work
I am an Embassy Suites fan and a long time Hilton Honors member. I sought out a Hilton property for this reason and was pleased to find an ES. However, the check in process was a let-down and it tainted the rest of our stay. We came in later - 11pm or so - on a snowy night, walked in and were totally ignored by both individuals at the standing kiosks deals. Long enough that I actually said Good Evening to them so they helped me. Which the one, clearly the trainee did. She was uncertain but pleasant, and again, clearly taking her cues from the other gentleman, presumably the night manager. He never even glanced up at us. Honestly everything was just fine - Embassy Suites hotels are generally clean and comfortable, and it was. The breakfast, also as usual, was very good. Parking was $24 which we thought excessive since we were staying the night there - and I never saw that listed although in fairness I could have missed it. So all being said, there was nothing wrong with the hotel, but the customer service upon check-in affected all three of us negatively, and frankly, we will go to the Marriott nearby next time as we really like the area.
