Ok, if you need a cheap room with a double bed near khaosan

A lot of trouble shooting at the beginning!!!
Pros:

The personnel at the residence were wonderful people, although we had language barrier their intimacy and sincere efforts to solve probelms were worth a lot...they were always kind and helpful...

Cons:

When booking on the web page, it was stated that wi-fi was accessible in each room. However, when we arrived at the residence, we were told that wi-fi connection is available on the ground floor only!!!! Yet, personnel tried to solve this problem by changing our room with the hope that we could get Internet access; unfortunately we were not able to have wi-fi connection there either. Finally attendans brought a wireless wi-fi device to our room on the 3rd floor. There was only one piece of towel for each guest in the room and no soap for handwashing in the sink...

Exceptional
Pros:

Cheap, self serve laundrette on the ground floor. 7/11 over the road and a great place to stay before getting the train to kanchanburi. Thick but very very hard mattess but provides plenty of support. I'm 6'3 and 100kg and I slept for 13 hours no problem.

Cons:

No WiFi. Room is directly above reception. Why not allow guests to connect to existing WiFi in reception? Signal will be strong enough.

Not perfect
Pros:

I'm being generous giving this 3 stars because the room was clean and Aircon and location good. The reason it's not that good is no wifi in room and a cold shower! No hot water. The staff don't speak English at all when my friend tried to check in after booking a room for himself online they told him it's full.

Not good for Khao San but for all other sightseeing by public transport
Pros:

Great value for money. Balcony. 8 min walk to the next MRT station. Next to the station is a big Thai market. The elderly lady in charge only speaks Thai and will call someone you can talk English to.

Cons:

WiFi only works in the Lobby.
