We stayed at the Grand Mercure Ambassador in Seoul for 13 nights, and honestly, it felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. It had everything you’d need for a long stay — washing machine, dishwasher, proper stove, fridge, freezer, pots, pans, utensils, even a cutting board. We could cook, wash clothes and live comfortably without needing anything extra, which made our trip so much easier.
The whole place was spotless, and housekeeping did a great job every day. Service was consistently good. The location is also really convenient — just a short walk to Yongsan Station, so getting around Seoul was simple. The gym and sauna were clean and well maintained too. Every staff member we met was polite and professional.
But what made the stay unforgettable was the people — especially Pauline, the French Customer Experience Manager. When she found out we were celebrating our 20th anniversary, she organised a beautiful surprise for us. There were personal touches everywhere — even a handwritten note. She always greeted us warmly when we came back to the hotel and genuinely made us feel looked after.
We also want to mention Erik. I needed to buy some car parts and, since I don’t speak Korean, it was difficult to order online. Erik tried to help me place the order, and when that didn’t work, he called the company himself and arranged for the items to be sent to a nearby store. That kind of effort is rare.
We really recommend this hotel if you’re coming to Seoul. The location, facilities and cleanliness are all great — but it’s people like Pauline and Erik who make it special. If you’re looking for comfort, convenience and real hospitality, this place ticks every box.
