I’m disappointed with the hotel’s email communication and reservation handling by the F&B team.

On December 23, 2025, I emailed to request a buffet lunch reservation at KWEE ZEEN (Sofitel Foshan) for December 27, 2025 at 12:00 PM (1 guest) and asked for confirmation. I received no confirmation email.

On December 24, 2025, the email was forwarded internally (I was copied) asking the F&B team to follow up as soon as possible, but I still received no reply or confirmation. I followed up again on December 25, 2025, and again no confirmation was provided.

Because I never received confirmation, I could not plan properly and ultimately did not dine there as scheduled. A simple confirmation is basic service, and the lack of response created unnecessary uncertainty and inconvenience. I hope the hotel improves its responsiveness and reservation confirmation process so other guests don’t face the same issue.

At 2:30 AM, I arrived at Sofitel Foshan Louvre International Hotel. I thought a 5-star brand would at least guarantee basic service. What happened instead was a nightmare:
1. Doorman smashed my luggage on the ground
My second suitcase weighed 30KG. The doorman pulled it out of the trunk and dropped it hard on the ground with a huge bang. I was shocked and asked immediately if the luggage was okay. He said “It’s fine.” It was dark at the entrance and all my bags were with him, so I trusted his word.
2. No room available despite my reservation
I went up to the 11th floor to check in, only to be told: my booking didn’t go through, the hotel was fully booked, and there was no room for me. Their “solution”? They recommended I go to a nearby hotel at 3 AM. Unbelievable.
3. Damage discovered and hotel refused responsibility
Since I couldn’t check in, my suitcase stayed at the front desk instead of being taken upstairs. When I reached the other hotel 5 minutes later, under the bright lights I finally saw the truth: one wheel of my suitcase was half broken and almost torn off.
I immediately called Sofitel. The replies were beyond ridiculous:
• “The doorman wasn’t professionally trained, not a permanent staff member.” → Really? That’s your excuse in 2025? Just blame a temp worker?
• “From the CCTV we cannot see the luggage was damaged, maybe it happened during the taxi ride.” → Are you serious? A 5-minute ride with my suitcase lying flat in the trunk, and you expect me to blame the taxi driver?
• The next morning I called again to ask for a detailed update. The duty manager told me: ‘Your luggage was taken up to the 11th floor.’
👉 Fact: my luggage never left the lobby, it sat at the front desk the whole time.
This shows the manager didn’t even investigate properly—just made up a story to brush me off.

Super business friendly. Immaculate rooms and great staff.

We had such a fabulous experience at this hotel. It took us 2.5 hours to get here from Hong Kong. The hotel is above the Louvre furniture centre, and it’s everything you’d expect a Sofitel to be - elegant decor, excellent service, and delicious food. The best things for us is that it’s not packed with tourists so we could enjoy a tranquil and relaxing stay.

We were lucky to have booked a prestige king bed suite at the last minute with breakfast and access to the Club Lounge. The lounge staff Eve and manager Kevin were very friendly and helpful. At the lounge, guests can enjoy complimentary afternoon tea set at 3-5pm and happy hour refreshments at 5:30-7:30pm, plus coffee/tea and snacks all day.

We hardly went out of the hotel for we also came to look at furniture for our home. I’d definitely come back again, just to spend a few quiet days and recharge.

Booked rooms with excess to the club lounge for 2 nights. Upon checking in we had to separately ask where the lounge was and were then send to the restaurant.

Rooms we massive with a super spacious bathroom with seperate toilet, shower, bathtub and large couch, large sliding doors to the room on one side and dressing area on the other side. Wooden floors, very hygienic.
Minibar, kettle and nespresso was hidden in a nice Chinese cabinet.

Breakfast was in the restaurant, you could sit on the right, a little away from the buffet area, avoiding the crowd. Western selection was ok with fruits, yoghurt, pastries, eggs etc. Large Chinese selection. Very bad coffee but tea was good.

Club lounge provided afternoon tea and happy hour: happy hour food was good and we actually snacked so much, we could forego dinner. Be aware not to cut the bread that is for decoration only when the bread on the wooden board is finished. We did and so did other people :-)

One comment is that they changed our wifi access code on day 2 without informing us so when we arrived in the hotel late in the evening, we could not log in. Upon checking out, they also changed the name on the reservation without informing me. So we had to get them to change it all back again. Very odd as I made the reservation from the Accor app which has all the details including my membership status and to change it then randomly to my partner's name, very clumsy.

After we checked out in the morning and left our luggage before leaving for HK in the evening, we could not get wifi access either anymore. Would have expected to keep the access for guests who checked out a few more hours. There was also no option to get wifi anymore without using a Chinese phone number

There is a bar on the rooftop with some live music. You can smoke inside so really horrific for your lungs and clothes. Drinks are nice and staff is friendly. We could only sit in one area as for the other area, it was reserved for people spending 1500CNY on a bottle of liquor.....not that there was anyone. Bar was filled with very young girls zipping from one drink and taking millions of pictures of each other in revealing outfits, quite interesting to see

I've been staying at Sofitel Foshan whenever I'm passing through the Shunde or Foshan region. Based on my experience, I can confidently say that this is one of the best Sofitel hotels in China, and should be also the top ones worldwide.
What I want to mention first is, this Sofitel is cooperating with the Louvre Co., China, which is one of the biggest furnishing and decoration companies in China even the world. I'd assume this is the reason why we would never doubt the quality and feels of room furnishing and design lol. Basic Sofitel bed and bathroom, like soft beds and soups by Lanvin Paris.
What besides the hardware should be their hospitality service. It is a little bit weird that concierge departments in China are broadly lacking in training among the premium hotels, but not this one. The conierges are welcomed upon your arrival at the gate. Including luggage service, guiding service and greetings. What's worth mentioning is that the concierge service is still running even at 9 PM, while I'd been arrived late.
The lounge also provided expert Butler Services and above-average food. In happy-hours, Wines (Noir, Gris), spirits, salad, bread and local food would be provided. I'd also like to mention the staff during my stay who provided me with a leisure and memorable stay: Katrina Zhou served as the Supervisor of GR dep., and her colleagues Eve, Fina.
The breakfast was also nice. It is a Chinese-European combined restaurant which provides basic Continental breakfast courses and Chinese breakfast as well (Sother China). The food was not that inspired but enough to start a new day as they were only breakfast lol.

Some Info FYR:
- IT control panel is at the desk in the room, with the engineers if you need them. Cables are not that frequently used by travellers, like HDMI cables, had also been provided, which means it is also suitable for business trips
- Business Centre with an iMac and a Printer (HP fdw227M coloured laserjet in July 2025)
- Bathtub in the room
- Electronic bidet

Very appreciative for all you guys helping having this wonderful birthday. Especially appreciate that Ms Ava introduced about the dish for me. I was unexpected that the Hotel get us a free cake and also explaining how is the hotel’s history and also how is the hotel decorations coming from. The Wellington steak also was fantastic and really grateful for the dessert that the Tiramisu is perfect and Ms Ava also told me that the idea of the logo is coming from the hotel. It’s really cool design. And I really appreciate that having a wonderful evening with you guys all.

Executive lounge staff Tina is very helpful and kind .I like the design of this Lounge very elegant . The cocktails recommended and preparre by Tina are excellent, I like it very much and don't think every sofitel Executive lounge has good cocktails .

Had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Louvre Foshan, thanks to Mr. Kevin’s outstanding hospitality. He upgraded me to a spacious and elegant room and was always attentive to my needs. The breakfast spread was excellent, with great vegetarian options. His professionalism made the stay truly memorable.

I am a long, stay guest at this hotel, I have chosen this hotel because it is extremely comfortable. The staff are very kind professional helpful. There is Katrina who is extremely sweet and takes care of all your needs. She is normally in the lounge. The premier lounge look out for her, she will make your stay very, very comfortable. Apart from this, the food is very good. They’re happy to customise dishes for you and if you have a special pallet, they will accommodate you. There is an Italian restaurant and a buffet restaurant. The breakfast is the best I have seen in the world. I travel a lot so that is saying something. Definitely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in China.

I came here for business, and during this travel I stayed in several hotels in China, my experience in Sofitel was amazing, their receptionist Mandy was very helpful, they have an amazing team, the rooms are great and the ambience as well. The steam sauna and jacuzzi are a great touch as well. Overall an amazing experience. Looking forward to coming back.

Believe me the concierge staff are very polite and considerate, especially the guys who are so handsome🤤

Very good hotel

We had a beautiful spacious French style room. There is a lot of food choices for breakfast.

The hotel is one of the best in the area but it is getting tired.. there are some cultural corks to keep in mind.. like don’t forget to bring swim cap if you want to use the pool, service barely speaks English, room service takes 50 minutes (even if you are VIP guest), there is giant bathtub in my room, but there is no bath salt ( u have to buy that … lol), and list goes on.. in overall I would stay here again..because luck of choices in the area

Overall this is five stars and lovely. Certainly it’s spacious (per too spacious if there is such a comment). We stayed in a modern exec club room and used the exec club both nights of our stay. Firstly the club floor room. Comfy bed and spacious. Feels luxurious. But a few quirks as well. The air con is a bit violent. Even the lowest fan speed is a little noisy. We slept both nights with AC off which was OK but a little stuffy as no airflow. The room is also a little cavernous .

The club lounge is comfy and spacious with a reasonable offering of snacks and drinks. It’s not an amazing club lounge but it does the job. Private, quiet, comfy.

The location is handy especially for furniture shopping. Direct connection to the Louvre mall and five minute walk the left to Sunlink Furniture Citu and ten minute walk to the right to Lecong Furniture city.
