We loved our stay, our room was lovely with air conditioning. All the staff were very good and friendly. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Would love to stay again.

We did not get chance to stay at the property as they rang us when we were one hour away from the property and told us that there were no rooms available and there had been. Mix up. We have not been offered any compensation for this issue.

Staff on arrival

The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly! We were given welcome drinks that we were able to take to our rooms, the rooms were spacious, modern and clean. The air con and radio were on when we entered the room which was a lovely touch and made us feel very welcome. We had a big comfy bed and a large ensuite with bath. Breakfast next day was delicious and a generous offering, with a pastry or granola, a hot breakfast from their standard breakfast menu and up to 3 drinks. Left feeling very happy, and disappointed we didn't get to spend more time there! Will definitely be returning.

interior quietness

Great refurbished hotel/restaurant/bar with parking and air con. The room was large with walk-in shower in the bathroom. The room had a DAB radio, TV and a kettle and Nespresso machine. We ate in the restaurant and the food was above average in range, taste and presentation. Breakfast was also excellent with hot and cold choices. Great place with friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely big and exceptionally clean rooms. Bathroom room was beautiful, very high spec. Staff were all really friendly.

The room was much bigger than expected! Both room and bathroom were extra clean, beautifully decorated. When we entered the room smooth radio was playing, a nice way to enter!
Staff were brilliant, breakfast included was great - you can pick off the menu and order.
We also had dinner there, highly recommend, the food is amazing!

Visited the Chalk Hare with friends on a very busy and hot Saturday evening. We had a lovely meal and our server Shelley was absolutely fantastic. Couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommended

Great location and nicely appointed room. If you like old buildings then the uneven floors and sash windows will tick all the boxes. Downstairs in the public areas plenty of areas to sit and relax. Nicely designed and flows well. Staff super friendly and helpful.

First experience of Chalk Hare since refurb. Really impressed, atmosphere and venue buzzing. Food was excellent despite being really busy. Staff and service excellent too - Angie our waitress was great ! Definately be going back .
