Nice stay - I should have researched more carefully re the noise
Pros:

Good facilities
Nice staff
Lovely period building

Cons:

Noisy bar area
Would have eaten in the restaurant but the hubbub was too much.
I’m older and the clientele were predominantly young and loud.

Gem of a place
Pros:

Beautifully updated. High-quality rooms with great bathrooms, L'Occitaine toiletries. Retaining the period aspect of the building. Staff super friendly and helpful and clearly a firm favourite for locals in the evening. The bar was positively humming! Breakfast was excellent with some of the best scrambled eggs ever! A really wonderful stay. Thank you.

Cons:

Sadly.no dedicated car park, but public Ringo one very close by.

Most enjoyable. Bedding and bed was lovely
Pros:

Checking in was a bit chaotic as a busy pub but no real issue. The room was immaculate, spacious and very comfortable.
Breakfast was delicious.

Cons:

We wasn't informed of breakfast times on checking in, was a bit worried getting back late due to the pub closing so had to make sure we was back by 11.00pm

Spot on. One of the best places have stopped in for a goodly while. Some nice touches too.
Pros:

Am a rep and travel alot. The detail was spot on, especially for the price we paid. Just referb'd, very comfortable, top brekkie. Spot on.

Cons:

Erm, genuinely struggle to think of anything negative.

It was clean

Cons:

Heaters not working in the room
Went for breakfast at 7:25am had still not received my breakfast by 8am and had to leave for a meeting
The night before they forgot us when waiting for food
Paying took my details twice my colleagues twice then took payment off his account only we wanted to pay per room separately very poor

Great hotel very central. helpful staff .
Pros:

The breakfast was super excellent choice available quality ingredients . Light lunch available didn’t have the opportunity to have dinner on this occasion but menu looked great. All staff very helpful and friendly. Newly refurbished to a high standard retaining important heritage features with modern comfort in bedrooms. Excellent central location. Large garden area. Would definitely recommend.

Cons:

Due to the age of the building a lift was not available so would have to be reasonably mobile to cope with the stairs . Usually look for somewhere with its own car park but easily parked almost next door in small paying car park.

Better than expected overall.
Pros:

The room had clearly just be refurbished and was in excellent condition. There was a Nespresso coffee machine which was a bonus. All the furnishings were very tasteful. Staff were good and friendly.

Cons:

Our room, number 2 was directly over the bar. This made it pretty noisy but the main problem was that the radio appeared to be on all night!

Some young staff who had far more courtesty and understanding than their manager.

Cons:

The stay was spoilt by the first interaction, which is your first impression. The manager who greeted us was totally negative. We had already requested an early check in (And paid for the priveledge) as we were attending a family wedding, only to be told that the early check in meant 2.00pm not 3.0pm. Our wedding was 1.45pm. We were however offered a disabled toilet to get changed in. However we returned at 12.00 and our room miraculousy was ready for us but we did,nt need negativty having just driven 200 miles.

As good as any 5* hotel in the UK
Pros:

As good, if not better than any 5* hotel in the UK. They have recently updated the property and done it exceptionally well.

Cons:

There isn't any parking, however there is a cheap public carpark next door to the hotel, which uses an app on your phone. £10 for 24hrs.

Amazing night away, already looking to book again.
Pros:

Greatvplace to meet friends and have a drink and some food, booked a toom that has recently been updated, a great job by all the team there.

Pros:

The hotel was very nice, nice breakfast, good atmosphere in the bar in the evening. Nice staff. Rooms very clean and nice. All with all really recommending this hotel if you travel or just would like to have a nice stay in that area.
