Perfect home base for Yucatán adventures!
Pros:

We actually stayed at Hotel Luz an Yucatán twice during our trip. Progreso was too loud for our liking, so we came back early for a second stay at this hotel we knew felt safe, quiet, and comfortable.
Hotel Luz en Yucatán has the perfect mix of character, history and modern conveniences, with excellent service and great breakfast (we all loved the avocado toast). We particularly appreciated the ample supply of drinking water in the rooms and the help setting up our transportation and complicated day trips from Merida. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants, landmarks, beautiful squares, paseo montejo, atm, etc. The welcome drinks by the pool were also a fun way to start our stay!

A good place in a good location
Pros:

Pool nice. Our room was a better one with a balcony and veranda to the pool so it felt lighter. The extra paid for these back rooms is worth it. Pool was very nice, and area around it good. Breakfast nice too. Staff all speak good english. Drinks bar for coffee tea also nice.

Cons:

Room a little bit dark and old-fashioned, but that is often the case with this style of hotel. Some other rooms open into a passage rather than have windows to outside. Again, this is a common feature of many places.

Pros:

The hotel is very unique. No two rooms are the same. The staff and owners treat you like family. Very helpful and friendly. Very close to bus station if you want to go to Progreso.

A very comfortable stay in a beautiful old building restored to a high standard.
Pros:

The old building which is now the Luz en Yucatan has been beautifully and tastefully restored, to a high standard. Our room was large, with comfortable beds and an excellent shower with plenty of hot water. We particularly appreciated breakfast being included (a very good breakfast) and decent coffee. The pool is small, more suited to a dip on a hot day than swimming, but attractive and set in a charming courtyard garden.

Cons:

Parking is a short distance away from the hotel, in a staffed parking lot. This was slightly inconvenient (and would be more so in heavy rain), but understandable- the beautiful old buildings in Merida don’t lend themselves to on-site parking.

Excellent hébergement
Pros:

Hôtel très charmant, propre, et disposant de toutes les commodités. De l'eau potable est à disposition dans la chambre.
Le petit déjeuner est excellent.
Une jolie piscine est située au calme, à l'arrière de l'hôtel. Le personnel est très avenant, et John met a disposition une application pour profiter pleinement de la ville.
La situation est centrale et tout se fait à pied.
Un parking gratuit est à disposition, à 1 minute à pied.
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour.

Excellent séjour dans un bel hôtel près du centre tout en étant au calme !
Pros:

En plein centre historique, propre, autres clients extrêmement sympas avec qui il est facile de discuter notamment le matin au petit déjeuner, gérants disponibles et de bon conseil, calme, bon petit déjeuner.
La chambre côté piscine fait penser à une oasis.

Amabilidad, ubicación. Muy céntrico y el lugar es bonito, limpio y desayuno muy rico y variado. Cera de muy buenos restaurantes.

Cons:

Me toco una habitación en segundo piso con mucho ruido de un equipo de aire acondicionado, que creo no era del hotel, pero el ruido si era fuerte en la noche, como para personas que necesitan de quietud para dormir. Mi colega, en habitación de primer piso mencionó que era muy tranquila, pero entraba mucha luz del pasillo.
