Attractive location, spacious and clean.

Perfect for a night's stay prior to our son's graduation at Loughborough university. We had a pleasant drink in the garden the night before and very good breakfast in the morning. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The hotel is an extended Grange with some rooms newer than others but it's all very pretty. The bar was a nice area with a TV showing a World cup match at the time.
We were there on one of the hottest days/ nights of the year with no air conditioning so a little difficult to sleep.
When we took our drinks outside there were free tables but they all had lots of glasses and plates from previous occupants so there seemed to be a lack of staff available to clear tables.
The staff were brilliant, food good, room clean, nice gardens to walk around following day, convenient location.
The see through ensuite bathroom, the hotel and grounds very busy due to a wedding party.

The staff didn’t know much about serving drinks at the bar made lots of errors and didn’t come across as like they knew what they were doing

Felt old and tatty.
Waited for breakfast only for the buffet to be delayed. The staff did offer to cook something. However, I like the breakfast buffet and was looking forward to it, so I left.
It was a good location for my needs, parking was a plus.
Stains on the carpet and ceiling in the bedroom; mould in the shower, shower temperature gauge didn't work so the shower was scalding hot; bed was very large which was great but the mattress was lumpy and made for a tough night's sleep.

Not a lot, old dated and no life. No staff on hand. Lots of waiting around and being ignored.
The fact that there was hardly any staff, the place was very dated and lifeless no vibe at all. A real disappointment, I was given a room that had not been turned around. So walked into towels all over the room and an unmade bed full bins and an awful smell. I was told I would be getting half my fee refunded. This is still yet to happen. Such bad service, no bar staff on. Staff that were on looked absolutely knackered and fed up !!
