Receptionist was very nice on arrival. I like the location of the hotel. I enjoyed the fresh fruit salad at breakfast.
We arrived at night, I didn't think the hotel was very well lit or sign posted. There was a wedding reception taking place and our toom was situated on the ground floor. There was a lot of noise late at night and the bar was noisy with children, it was not a nice environment in the bar at all, no sparkling water either. The hotel seems very tired and dated from when I stayed here a few years ago. Room very basic, couldn't find the room for breakfast, others were wandering around lost as well.i just felt very disappointed, we come to Leicester often to visit family in Syston. Would not stay here again, very basic but could be improved with just a little more attention to detail.
Everything from the warm welcome to the choice of meals from both bar and restaurant menus which satisfied various appetites and dietary choices. Food was excellent too: evening meal and breakfasts.
Ramp available for disabled access. Staff on hand offered to deploy ramp, which was reassuring. In the event my wife was able to negotiate the three steps with a little help (she uses a wheeled walker which was easily carried up/down, which we’ve found easier and safer than a ramp, though obviously necessary for wheelchair users).

Setting is lovely, rooms spacious , grounds very nice.
Breakfast I had made fresh which was lovely as when self service not good as never hot, waitress was lovely but totally let down by management having to deal with everything by herself, so NOT FAIR ! she had to set and reset the tables, replenish the food, take orders, all on her own, MANAGEMENT LISTEN SHE NEEDS ASSISATANCE especially when having over 70 people for breakfast !! Also superior rooms really need superior furniture not a cheap white tiny table !
Bed comfortable breakfast nice. Girl working on her own for breakfast didnt stop and kept a smile on her face.
Inside looked like hadn't been decorated since the 1970's. Owners need to update the interior. Owners also need to employ more staff especially at breakfast.
The staff are all lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The location is good too. Very peaceful.
The property could do with a bit of tlc, but there were decorators in as we were leaving, so they obviously realise.
room was very nice and good value for money.
bar was very busy due to the hotel holding a wedding and only having the one bar available for wedding guests and hotel guests.
The bedroom was of decent proportions, and the shower room and adjoining facilities were OK. The reception staff were kind and helpful.
The bed was as uncomfortable as any I have ever slept on, with a mattress that gave very little support. It should be condemned. The concept of a glass-fronted bathroom is flawed. A light put on in the middle of the night disturbs the occupant left in bed, not a great idea. I understand buffet breakfasts, but the surplus staff could and should serve/top up tea and coffee.

it's a nice place and has lots of open space to roam
the shower and toilet are glass so when your sharing with your partner it's not very private for using the loo.
the beds are just 2 singles pushed together
