Pros:

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The setting and the character of the hotel was exceptional. Wonderfull breakfast.

Cons:

The facilities in the rooms could have done with updating, (one of the showers ran cold). The restaurant facilities were not ideal, but the breakfast was great! Location was a little out of the way if you wanted to walk anywhere (no footpaths)

Perfect escape
Pros:

The place is very well maintained, big room, comfortable bed, extra facilities: iron, hair dryer. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, The breakfast was delicious, we could choose from a variety of breakfast types. .
The location is lovely if you are looking for a quiet place.. The small, charming villages of the Cotswolds are easy to reach, also the Romanesque city Bath.

Cons:

We had a perfect stay, we will definitely come back.

The worst ever. An absolute dive, avoid at all cost!

Cons:

Curtains were closed when I opened the room door. The room stank of dampness which air freshener had been sprayed over. The obnoxious owner, who had obviously become ‘nose blind’ to the stench of his hovel, refused to accept the room stank of dampness and insisted that it was just a smell of air freshener. 🙄 I requested to be moved to another room which he refused. He also refused to refund me my money.
Rather than die of asphyxiation in the stinking room I took myself to a far better establishment some miles away. I stay in places all over Europe on a weekly basis and this place is without doubt the worst I have ever booked. I was happier to leave without a refund than to stay in the stinking damp hovel. I subsequently read other reviews on this site and others made reference to the smell of dampness in the rooms so I’m not the first to complain of this. Saggy beds are only suitable for those who like to sleep in a hammock.
AVOID at all cost.
For anyone unfortunate enough to stay in this place be aware of their list of house ‘rules’ including the following:
A) Check between 10 and 12 is charged at an additional cost of £37.50.
B) Tea with breakfast is an ‘optional extra’ at £4
C) Toast with breakfast is an ‘optional extra’ at £5
D) You are charged a ‘deposit’ of £150 on arrival to the property.

Absolutely disgusted by the service and the operating policies. If you are travelling by bike, they will tell you, that you cant leave it in the room, and the storage is not available till 7am, which was not working for me. After 100miles traveled is the last thing you want to hear. Told me I can just leave my 3.5k bike outside. What a comedy

0 care and 0 effort

Place reeks of the "hidden" charges and policies to be smacked in your face when you arrive as per previous reviews. Refused refund and just said I can go and find a room elsewhere forcing me to pay twice. Hilton nearby had no issue with bike and offered a day and night difference with their customer care

Hoping the place will get what they deserve with this attitude

Spectacular Sunset / sunrise
Pros:

I had a lovely night sleep,
the sunrise from the room on the front was excellent and I guess sunset from the rear rooms.
The shower was good especially the luxury shower gel
Breakfast outside on the brilliant summer's morning was particularly special, it tasted just perfect and was very well presented.

Hopefully I'll be down that way again soon so I can grab some more of the tranquility.

Prima locatie voor een kort verblijf.
Pros:

Vriendelijke ontvangst door gastvrouw. Goed verzorgd ontbijt. Nette comfortabele kamer. Bijzondere locatie; het gebouw was voorheen tot 1965 in gebruik als school.

Cons:

Niets viel tegen. Het hotel voldeed aan onze verwachtingen.

A Lovely Oasis

It’s location to the M4 was perfect for us travelling home Karen the owner was absolutely lovely gave us a first class welcome we had an excellent evening meal and the Breakfast was a full English served in our room which saw us on our way very good value

Charming old building with excellent food
Pros:

Charming old building in pretty rural location very convenient for the M4. Excellent food and helpful host. Very helpful in adapting menus for our coeliac daughter.

Cons:

The room was very dated and smelled of damp. The “simple” menu, while delicious and perfectly cooked, wasn’t very simple, and there are very limited spaces to sit and eat unless you go for the expensive restaurant menu.

Un lugar muy tranquilo y pintoresco, además el trato fue excelente y al coger la media pensión fue un acierto total, la cena del menú es muy variada, de calidad y abundante , los desayunos también son abundantes y pudimos disfrutarlos en la terraza por el buen tiempo.
Tanto las habitaciones como e resto del alojamiento está muy limpio.

Las habitaciones no eran modernas, pero eran confortables.
