Pros:

Owner was lovely and welcoming. Good parking, short walk to nearest pub that did excellent food. Take a torch though as its a dark road. Good breakfast served for when we'd ordered it. Ate in the hotel lobby which was a bit weird but OK. Loved seeing the wild deer outside our room in the morning.

Cons:

Bed wasn't the most comfortable, too soft and we kept rolling into the middle.

Nice property and peaceful setting with a tasty breakfast.
Pros:

Location and waking up surrounded by fields. Karen was very helpful and breakfast was nice.

Cons:

Customer service from Tonny was non-existent. Zero attempt at helping or showing empathy. Accused us of being unreasonable for not answering an email sent at 0800 until 1500 on a workday. Really took the shine off, almost cancelled in advance as a result of interactions with him.

A+ for the Schoolhouse
Pros:

We wanted to stay here for the experience of an old schoolhouse. The room was very comfortable with a great old feel. It had all the amenities we needed.
We didn't make dinner reservations in advance and were grateful they were able to seat us. The meal was truly exceptional!!! It was the best meal we ate on our trip - and we ate very well. The cooked vegetable plate, with several different types of vegetables were the best my wife has ever eaten.
We sure hope our travels will bring us back to the Schoolhouse Restaurant and Hotel again.

Excellent hotel and restaurant to stay for a night or longer.
Pros:

Classic mid 19th century schoolhouse. Very quiet location But within 5 minutes drive to Wootton Basset or 15 to Swindon centre. Room was very clean, warm and comfortable. Karen the host was a wonderful. Friendly, warm and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent (served if you wish in the room) and the evening meal options also very good. Close to the M4, but you wouldn’t notice as it was so quiet and peaceful.
Very good location. Beautiful countryside directly outside. A very good and relaxing stay. I’ll definitely return.

Cons:

Nothing

Comforting and welcoming
Pros:

Friendly owner . Nice sized room which was clean. Good parking spaces. Option to serve breakfast to the room was very welcome and we were able to pick a time. Breakfast was substantial. Menus produced daily for the evening meal which we ate at one of four tables in the foyer. Good choice of meals which always included a fish and vegetarian option. My wife and I cleared our plates every time because they were so enjoyable.

Cons:

Nothing

A beautiful setting with food to match
Pros:

We ate from the table d'hote menu and were extremely pleased with the quality of the food. It was excellent. We both had mushroom starters, which were so tasty. Our mains were sea bass and pork fillet, again faultless and we ate every last scrap
The dining room was atmospheric, despite the fact that we were the only diners in there. Service was very friendly.
Breakfast was served in the room, we both had smoked haddock and eggs on toast-again top marks. the fish was white, meaty and not a sign of a bone.

Cons:

The bed was not quite like many of the good chain hotels, it had much more give in it.
