Pros:

Beautiful property, clean rooms, amazing location — you can go on hikes and enjoy gorgeous scenery from the doorstep, without having to drive anywhere. Close to many attractions in the Peak District. The packed lunch was a wonderful bonus. And the food at breakfast and dinner was wonderful.

Wonderfully attentive staff
Pros:

We thought the staff were amazing. Georgina and Paris (I hope I am getting this right) went above and beyond during our stay. The food was excellent, we had one meal at the hotel on our first night and the hotel very kindly kept the kitchen open for us so we could eat after our long journey. I had a running race on the Sunday morning and the staff organised an early continental breakfast for our room. Our room was comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Excellent hotel in the Peak District
Pros:

Wonderfully quiet and peaceful location, you could step out of the hotel and into the rolling hills. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the manager (Andy) always took the time to say hello and ask about our stay. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide range of options available, all freshly made. A free packed lunch was provided each day, again, freshly prepared. The evening meals were all very good, with a complete change of menu each night. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Peak District as attractions such as Chatsworth, Bakewell etc are all within a reasonable (half hour or so) drive.

Cons:

No real complaints at all. The newly installed electric car charging point wasn't working at the time of our visit, not a big problem for our hybrid car, but it would have been nice to use if it had been available.
