Great location and a lovely setting with very friendly staff. the hotel has great character and the grounds are lovely to walk around. The rooms are a bit dated but that is very inkeeping with the style of the property. there is a reseraunt in the hotel and the food/service is fantasitc.
The bed was not the most comfortable ive ever slept on and there was a few basic things missing from the room, there was no air con, no fan, no iron/ironing board and the tv didnt work.
Beautiful historic building in lovely farmland location. Super friendly welcome from receptionist. Complimentary Prosecco and beer in the room. Delicious real home cooked evening meal and breakfast. A 1st ever for us, being sent on our way with a picnic bag of sandwiches crisps chocolate fruit and a drink. So sweet. ALL the staff were lovely, welcoming and kind. Would absolutely stay again!!
The carpets need a deep clean, and some of the furniture needs updating. Tiny issues as the hotel is wonderful!

Lovely hotel, lots of history
we liked everything
The staff were all so lovely and friendly and made us feel very welcome. A charming property with comfortable furniture - it was like staying in a home rather than a hotel. Glasshouse / Greenhouse option for dining with dog. Lovely farm setting. The food was delicious.
Our pet-friendly bedroom in the separate cottage was slightly overheated with an expansion tank in the bathroom but easily adjusted by opening velux +windows.
Great location and very comfortable. Loved the lounge area for relaxing and location great for local walks and accessing the wider Peak District. Breakfast was lovely and generous portions, and packed lunch a nice surprise. Had dinner one night in the restaurant which was delicious.
Great property in a lovely location ,
The food was excellent. I had steak for dinner and it was, by far, the best steak I have ever eaten.
The breakfast was exceptional, they even served a diced sausage on a metal plate for our dog.
Nothing comes to mind.
We stayed over the Easter Bank holiday (3 nights) and it was fully booked but never felt too busy. The staff were really friendly and did well, breakfast was great and plenty big enough. You get a choice of hot food which is made to order and there's an continental buffet to help yourself too. We also loved the packed lunches. We had dinner at the restaurant every night and it was good and reasonable priced and so handy being onsite. We brought our dog and he enjoyed it too! We left him in the room for meals but there are dog friendly greenhouses if you want to take your dog with you when you eat. It's also nice staying somewhere that doesn't charge you extra for your dog. We also all got an Easter egg from the hotel on Sunday, it was a lovely touch! Thanks so much.
Nothing, we were happy!
Old world charm with all modern facilities.
