Hyatt Place Long Island City/New York City

The Hyatt Place LIC is a very comfortable and accommodating property with an excellent staff, extremely clean, and great location for dining choices, the subway with quick access to Manhattan (1 stop to Lexington Ave). A great choice for family, couples, solo or business travel.

Exceeded my expectations for - accessibility to subway and food; cleanliness of room and common area; training room with Peloton bike; friendly helpful reception

Met my expectations for - breakfast selection/time; bed quality - comfortable though soft for me; room size/decor/TV/coffee quality

Only issue was we could hear people in the hallway, which disturbed our sleep at night and early morning - suggest a room farther from elevator

I stay in many Hyatt hotels in Europe, Asia, Africa and they are all universally very good - be it the Hyatt regency, Hyatt place , Hyatt centric , Grand Hyatt and Hyatt brand. This is the first time I stayed in a Hyatt place in US and it was a vast step down .

Let me talk about the good :
-Nice clean room and mirrors and good running water .
-Decent but simple breakfast .
- good location to Manhattan area and relatively safe area

Not good
-Staff were very mechanical and not as friendly or good as the other Hyatt brands I stayed . They are very transactional and very meh .
-You have to check your bill carefully - staff didn’t do due diligence and was going to charge to my account a car parking charge from some unscrupulous driver from Pennsylvania who registered his/her car under my room account to get free parking !! The staff didn’t check .
- It felt more like a motel than a hotel .

Would u stay in this Hyatt or Hyatt brands in USA?

The not so good

Hotel was very clean and the room was a good size. They responded to our request for a pack-n-play and additional bedding very quickly. The breakfast was excellent and a great selection. Negative was the parking. The website listed on-site parking but it was full when we arrived so we had to park offsite for a high price. This would have been nice to know ahead of time to reserve a space or know it wasn't guaranteed.

I booked at this hotel because of its proximity to Manhattan and because the top rate was less than for a comparable hotel in Manhattan. However, the cab fare to and from Manhattan offsets the cost differential. It is a good hotel in all respects. Decor is dated (furniture in room looks well worn). Bathroom was comfortable with a walkin shower. Breakfast was fine. I was expecting the hot oatmeal that other Hyatt Place hotels serve, but they had small packets of instant oatmeal (one adds water and makes one’s own instant oatmeal). I found this an acceptable alternative. I’ll probably stay there again if the need arises.

Great place to stay! This is my second time staying here. The first time I stayed back in May, I encountered Matthew on the overnight, very friendly and kind. This time around I encountered Jose and Amanda at the front office were very kind. Jackie from housekeeping was very warm and welcoming. . Clean rooms & friendly staff. Will be coming back

This is a great hotel. Good location, many restaurants, near subways and very safe area. The staff is very helpful and courteous. It is very nice to have a free breakfast so you don't have to go out in the morning. It is just a couple of stops to get to Manhattan. I would recommend staying here.

The Hyatt place is conveniently located in Long Island city. We stayed for a wedding and the rooms were a good sized for nyc rooms. The breakfast offerings were good ,but there is not a lot of space to get breakfast or eat breakfast. It feels a bit like an afterthought.

There are close restaurants, grocery and hardware stores. Easy to uber from this hotel.

The hotel does not offer a pool and the view is not much to see. However it is a comfortable landing spot to then explore nyc from.

Very nice experience overall and good location to nearby restaurants and subway stops. We found the that the rooms and the entire hotel grounds were well maintained and very clean. The check-in and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a nice breakfast too.

Whenever I am in NYC this is my go to place, the location is so perfect, it’s few steps away to subway stations and many restaurants to choose from. Also, the place is right next to amazing coffee place. Being a World of Hyatt explorist I get to enjoy late checkout.

Hotel is new, modern and well maintained. Staff is courteous and professional. It is across the East River from Manhattan but only one subway stop away. It is as close as you can get to Manhattan without actually being in Manhattan. Breakfast is a little weak. Will be happy to return.

This Hyatt Place is consistently great: location, staff, breakfast, rooms. I stay here every time I go to N.Y., and it is pleasant every time. Benedict, the manager, is especially helpful!

Place was clean, in quite area, it was safe. Near subway station to get direct train to the city. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This stay exceeded my expectations in every way. The location is fantastic, close to lots of great dining options and subway stations, and very walkable. I felt very safe and saw many young individuals walking around at all hours which added to the level of safety I felt. The hotel was comfortable, felt updated, was clean, and spacious for NYC standards. Very pleased with this stay and would definitely stay here again next time I'm in NYC.

Great service and location

Room was much bigger than I expected. The pullout couch was a pretty squeaky and springy, so if someone is going to sleep on that, just be prepared.
Nice hotel - great breakfast options - and the staff was amazing.
Close to subway stations which were handy to get into the city with.

The location was perfect. The subway stations are in walkable distance. Very safe and happening neighborhood. The hotel is very clean. The people working here are very kind.

The room was clean and cozy. Parking is a bit of a doozy. Breakfast was great.
