The aesthetic and vibe was really nice, and the staffs were so sweet
nothing at all
Que ma demande d’étage élevé pur la catégorie commandée qui a été demandé lors de la réservation ( il y a plus de 6 mois) n’ai pas été suivie. Alors qu’on avait payé ce type de chambre pour cela .
I rarely leave negative reviews, but after reading the hotel’s formal investigation into my complaint, I feel compelled to share my experience so that other guests can make an informed decision.
My husband developed a significant allergic reaction during our stay. We were extremely concerned because the reaction occurred while we were in the room, which we found to be visibly dusty and were concerned may also have had mould. His symptoms became serious enough that we sought medical attention. Importantly, after we left the hotel environment, his condition improved significantly, and he had recovered by the night we moved to another hotel.
When we first raised our concerns with reception, we were hoping for empathy and a genuine investigation into whether there was something in the room that could have contributed to his illness.
Instead, our experience was very different.
The hotel’s formal response states that staff “responded to your concerns promptly and explored a number of options to assist, including discussing a room relocation, offering an alternative room type, and personally attending the room to better understand the situation.”
That is not how we experienced the interaction.
The discussion about another room was immediately accompanied by comments that it would essentially be “the same” and would not help. There was no meaningful investigation of the room itself, no attempt to identify possible environmental issues, and no effort to understand what might have been triggering my husband’s symptoms. When staff attended our room, I did not experience this as an investigation. Instead, I felt the focus was on us leaving rather than resolving the problem.
The investigation letter also states that the Duty Manager “offered to refund the 2 nights of your stay as a gesture of goodwill.” By that stage, we were leaving because we no longer felt comfortable remaining in the room while my husband was unwell. Refunding unused nights should not be portrayed as resolving the underlying issue.
The letter further concludes that the team “acted appropriately and in good faith” and that the investigation “does not support that the hotel was responsible or didn’t offer solutions.”
I respect that hotels may reach conclusions different from their guests. However, I was deeply disappointed that the investigation relied on staff accounts that did not reflect my experience. At no point did I feel there was a genuine attempt to investigate the room or acknowledge that the hotel’s response could have been handled better.
My greatest disappointment is no longer about compensation. It is about accountability.
When a guest reports a serious health concern, I believe they deserve a thorough investigation, open communication, and an objective review of what occurred. Instead, I was left feeling that my family’s experience had been dismissed and that the written response did not fairly represent what happened.
