Waldorf Astoria Bangkok

Honestly, if you’re not giving a five star review of this exceptional property then you are living in a parallel universe or, more likely, you have such inflated expectations that you are sadly numb to warm, attentive and uniquely Thai hospitality.

Now yes, we were incredibly fortunate to be upgraded to an Executive Suite (and this was transformative!), but there is not one interaction from check in to check out that I could fault. Across the whole property, I could not believe how nearly everyone could address us so accurately by name - it made us feel incredibly special and were actually just normal people on holiday from Melbourne who chose a bloody good hotel.

Breakfast is exceptional. And on holidays, yes, you can linger for a couple of hours each morning and enjoy it. Similarly the pool and fitness centre, although the wind was pretty epic on a couple of afternoons. We loved Bull and Bear - great food and even better views.

But I just must come back to the staff. All of them are superb and, sitting writing this at the airport just prior to heading home, I cannot thank them enough - ALL of them - for providing us with such an experience. If you want to feel like the most important person in the world, stay at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok.

We travelling with our 9 month old, and mother, who stayed in another room on the same floor.
The cot was GREAT, a really high end plush one and our baby slept very well. Also the high chairs are super lux ones - seriously great hotel if you have a baby.

As a Hilton Diamond member, I was looking forward to my stay at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok. Overall, it was a good experience with a few notable disappointments.

Check-in was less efficient than expected, as it takes place on a different floor. There was no recognition of my Diamond status until I mentioned it and requested an early check-in. After some discussion, we were accommodated around 1:00 pm, which was appreciated.

The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered the amenities you’d expect from a luxury five-star hotel. One issue worth mentioning is the shower area. The floor doesn’t slope sufficiently toward the drain, causing water to pool outside the shower and creating a slippery surface. I nearly slipped twice, so it’s something the hotel should address.

The breakfast was the highlight of the stay. The selection was extensive, with excellent quality and plenty of variety. It was one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve experienced and made for a very enjoyable start to each day.

The biggest disappointment was the lack of flexibility with our late checkout request. We had a 10:00 pm flight, and my spouse wasn’t feeling well after being out in Bangkok’s extreme heat. As a Diamond member, I requested a late checkout, but it was declined without offering any alternative. In contrast, other Hilton properties, including the Conrad Bangkok, have gone out of their way to accommodate us by providing another room for a few extra hours. Given the Waldorf Astoria brand and Hilton’s loyalty program, I expected a more guest-focused approach.

Overall, the hotel offers beautiful rooms, an outstanding breakfast, and an excellent location. However, the inconsistent recognition of elite benefits and the inflexible service prevent this stay from matching the exceptional standards I associate with the Waldorf Astoria brand.

The cleanliness, the amazing service

I recently stayed at Waldorf Astoria Bangkok and once again had a wonderful experience.

From arrival to departure, the service was consistently attentive and professional. The team was welcoming, friendly, and always willing to help, making the stay feel comfortable and effortless.

The room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed. I particularly enjoyed the comfortable bed, the well-appointed bathroom, and the impressive views of the Bangkok skyline.

The hotel's location is also very convenient, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and many of the city's attractions, while still feeling like a peaceful retreat from the busy streets outside.

One of the highlights of my stay was breakfast at The Brasserie. The selection was extensive, with both buffet and à la carte options available. Everything I tried was fresh and well prepared, and the service was excellent throughout.

What stood out most was the consistency across the entire hotel. Whether interacting with the front office, restaurant teams, housekeeping, or concierge, everyone demonstrated genuine hospitality and attention to detail.

Bangkok offers many excellent hotels, but Waldorf Astoria Bangkok continues to be one of my favorite places to stay. I look forward to returning on my next visit to the city.

From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every member of the team was warm, professional, and attentive, making us feel truly welcomed throughout our stay.

The room was beautiful, spacious, and impeccably maintained, with stunning views of Bangkok. The amenities were excellent, and everything felt luxurious yet comfortable. As part of our babymoon, the hotel prepared a lovely surprise for us in the room, which was such a thoughtful touch. It was beautifully arranged, and we absolutely loved it.

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Bangkok, with easy access to shopping, dining, and everything the city has to offer.

A special mention goes to the breakfast at The Brasserie. I’m usually not a breakfast person, but breakfast here is genuinely worth waking up for. The quality, variety, and attention to detail were outstanding, and it became one of the highlights of our stay. The bakery selection was absolutely on point, everything we tried was delicious. My personal favorite was the croffle, which I looked forward to every single morning.

And of course, I have to mention the mango sticky rice. Having fresh mango sticky rice served from a trolley directly to our table at breakfast felt so special. I absolutely loved it.

What truly makes Waldorf Astoria Bangkok stand out is the consistency of its service and the genuine hospitality shown by every team member. We’ve stayed at many luxury hotels around the world, and this remains one of our favorite hotel experiences.

We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly exceptional stay in Bangkok.

An absolutely flawless stay, made truly unforgettable by the breakfast team! Every single morning was such a heartwarming experience. Going down for breakfast and being greeted by Amme, Arm, Champ,l and Mind instantly made our family feel so welcome and at home. Their outstanding, attentive service and genuine hospitality are rare to find. I completely fell in love with this hotel. If you are looking for top-notch luxury and flawless service, this is the absolute best place to stay in Bangkok. Highly, highly recommended.
